Current mood:  exhausted
Category: Music

Last week we packed the millimetre bus and headed for the wild wild west... well, Adelaide anyway.  Maybe more west than wild.

Along the way we encountered a giant koala (known affectionately by locals as the big borrie - and yes, we'd say the resemblance is accurate), so many yellow fields of canola, a landrover on a stick, and a rogue emu (which Ric narrowly avoided turning into roadkill).

Adelaide treated us very well indeed, with very enjoyable shows at the Grace Emily and the Wheatsheaf.  Thanks to The Pleasure of Books and Sleepless (in particular Matt and Matthew) for their music on the nights and for being so helpful in getting us there.

Between shows we managed to get out to McLaren Vale and sample some of the region's fine wine... and take a fair bit home with us.  Yet another reason to love Adelaide!

The bus rolled back to Melbourne just in time for soundcheck at the Curtin and after travelling over 1600kms in three days we dragged our exhausted little bodies onstage for one more show.  Thanks Quyen Le for guesting on violin, and the Priory Dolls & Gijs Hoop for opening.

I'll post some photos of the trip over the next few days... stay tuned.  Next 16 Millimetre show will be on Cup Eve with Kinematic and SubAudible Hum.  Should be a big one!

Anyone who does borries that look like big koalas should definitely considering altering their diet.
