The Fantiguas

This guy doesnt even get it. Pulp Fiction didnt invent surf. Pulp Fiction should never be referenced in a review for surf music. I appreciate Messer Chups more than he ever will.

I think the writer meant "fiction dealing with lurid or sensational subjects," which is actually the definition of Pulp Fiction. Unfortunately, the movie, which I never saw, now is brought to mind everytime the term is used. I'm sure Messer Chups is, hands down, a million times cooler than the movie.

I think the writer is refering to the movie because the words 'pulp fiction' are captalized and italicized

I must totally agree with the above post. Surf music is in a league of it's own. The best of all is the great sounds that come from the guitars that play it.

Good to see you guys getting some well deserved credit. The Pulp Fiction reference is a little off if it is referring to the movie, however if it is refering to"fiction dealing with lurid or sensational subjects," then it is pretty much on the mark. As far as the movie goes, I never watched it, but I have been listening to surf music for over 30 years, I grew up on the stuff. That movie did seem to be a turning point for a lot of peoples perception of what is cool and then made some of the things trendy (and lame.)

Surf music stands on it's own and you put an engaging and enjoyable new spin on the genre. I havne't been into collecting so many of one bands music in a while, and I keep buying your CD's you guys are GREAT.

I think the Pulp Fiction reference was more a reference to the soundtrack, which kicks off with Misirlou, and also includes music by The Tornadoes, The Revels, and The Lively Ones.

Of course, here I am making this comment a year later.
Looking forward to seeing you guys in Prague on the 11th!
