Steven "SteveStyles" Rodriguez, a multitalented bass player especially known for his smooth, funky, savvy and innovative style has become one of New York City's most "in demand" musicians.



A self taught guitarist, drummer & pianist since the early age of seven(maybe earlier from what my mom says, lol), Steven migrated to the bass guitar which now, is his main instrument.



SteveStyles intense love for a variety of music from Jazz to Gospel, Latin to Hip Hop, R & B to Pop & Country, surely has come from some of his musical influences such as Bill Evans,Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, John Patitucci, Marcus Miller,Jeff Berlin, RUBEN RODRIGUEZ, Mint Condition, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Yellowjackets, Wayne Shorter, Chic Corea, Mulgrew Miller, John Coltrane. This technically sounds performer's passion and versatility has lead to his stage name, "SteveStyles" but above all, his inspiration and talent are directly related to his faith in God.



Performing internationally from New York to Japan to New Zealand, Styles has performed at The World Famous Blue Note Jazz club in NYC, Madison Square Garden, U.S.A. & Japan MTV VMA's. He has also performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, MADtv, Saturday Night Live, Live with Regis and Kelly, Ellen Degeneris, Good Morning America, Top Of The Pops(UK), AMA's, BET Awards, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, VIBE Awards, Latin Grammy's and many many more.



SteveStyles, has toured and recorded with Alicia Keys on her sophomore hit The Diary of Alicia Keys (J Records) NELLY (Country Grammar-Universal) Case (Perosanl Cnversation/Open Letter-Island) Carl Thomas (Emotional-Bad Boy) Toni Braxton(Libra-Blackground) Lauryn Hill(Sony). - was also the musical director of Eve for her third hit album Evo-Lution(Aftermath/ Interscope) and Musical Director for Rihanna(A Girl Like Me-DefJam) Styles has performed with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Babyface, Lenny Kravitz, Anthony Hamilton, Roy Ayers, Carlos Santana, Bobby Brown and is currently working with Alejandro Sanz on his 2007-2008 World Tour(El Tren De Los Momentos-Warner) as well as Stacie Orrico(Beautiful Awakening-V2), Karina Pasian(DefJam). You can hear his recordings on the radio with such artists as Lil Mo (Yeah Yeah Yeah), Keiysha Cole (Want It To Be Over) SteveStyles is also a producer and also collaborates with super producer Amadeus (Platinum Boy/New Heights) among other well known produders and writers. Styles has also appeared in
the motion picture "Step Up" (2006) as well as recorded on the soundtrack(on Electric Guitar).



SteveStyles received a diploma from Christopher Columbus High School in The Bronx, NY in 1997 where he performed in the jazz band and studied music under the tutelage of world-renowned conductor/musician Carmen Laboy. He has also attended Five Towns College in Dix Hills and completed training at The Institute of Audio Research in New York, Majoring in Music Business and Minoring in Audio Technologies.
