Thought I would go back and look at the albums I've recorded over the years, and put some thoughts into binary code. I have been at it for a while, and figure I won't likely finish the whole project any time soon, so I'll post an album here, and album there, chronologically. Focusing on the albums that got released first, we'll get to Gravity Creeps, Wolfgang and the Sunspots over time, but here is the first, "Good Eatin'" by from Redneck GReece Delux, featuring yours truly Johnny Weasel on lead guitar.
The first album I ever recorded that got released. We started this band as kind of silly exercise, as Greg Reece/Redneck GReece had been asked by Jamie Loftin/Axel Greece to provide entertainment for the Loco’s Deli Christmas party. Greg accepted the offer, but only on the condition that he be allowed to bring his 10 piece band. Only problem, the band didn’t exist. But Redneck was not to be stymied, and assembled the bunch of country music wanna be’s. I snuck in the back door at the last minute, as Mike Gibson, from Dashboard Saviors had been originally tapped to play lead guitar, under the nom de plume B. Mo Hip, but the Saviors had a gig, so he said give WT a call. Greg called me at the Taco Stand, where I was working a Sunday day shift, and asked if I could 1) play country guitar and 2) be at practice that night. Yes and yes. So we realized we could actually play these songs well, and enjoy the playing thereof, and with the writing of “18 Wheels Have got the best of Me,” realized that Greg could really write some great songs. Not that “Snotty Nosed Kids” isn’t a great song, but it’s just  different. We saved our gig money, and recorded and mixed this out at Full Moon Recording in Watkinsville, with Rick Fowler engineering (he also goes by the moniker Leon Stumpbreaker). Can’t remember who tracked what on what day, but I recall using Gibson hollowbody, that had great, full note feedback, with I think a volume pedal for the solo on “18 wheels.” I also used the grey Stratocaster with the Tele bridge pickup for a lot of the tracking.  This was one of the first times I heard a lead vocal from Jack Logan. Named Hootie Sugarlegs in the outfit, he covered “There Stands the Glass,” the Webb Pierce classic. Beautiful job. L.D. Rado, the steel player, and I played the solo, trading licks. And Robin Bellflower/Jo Lynn Wheeler, turned in a blue classic of her own-she is a great singer, and really country, more so by far than any of the rest of us. Aaron Phillips, once and current drummer for  Bloodkin, was the drummer, nicknamed "Junior." Oh, my nickname in the band was “Johnny Weasel.” So named, as the at the first practice I attended was also the photo session for the poster for the debut, with individual cameos surrounding Redneck in a large oval in the center. During the individual shots, which Jim Stacy/Brahma Huerta took, I made a wolfman type grin, and I must have had some degree of facial hair, because Jim quipped “you look like a weasel doing that,” to which I quipped back, “that’s JOHNNY Weasel.”  The cover shot features noted Elvis Presley collector Joni Mabe and future DeLux member Anita Ammons, and the ribs were cooked by then harmonica player Brahma Huerta, and were extra tasty. We ate lustily, then broke out the camera.

I couldn't find Redneck Greece Delux or the greatest hits of Johnny Weasel on i-tunes. Keep up the good stories, I enjoy having my coffee with a WT story.
It good to know how legends come about, love to you bro!
