http://cdbaby.com/cd/garybloomSo, progress, right? Sure! Progress! Hey, I got almost ALL of the songs demo tracked out for the bro so that he can think drums. I'm missing "Just a Trace" and "Heaven Sent", but he's played on both of those live... so he doesn't have to write drum parts out yet. Yep... I'll have those in the boy's hands after this weekend. And then comes the important part - burning two CDs, and handing one to Doug and one to Dad so that they can practice. I actually wrote out a bass part for Heaven Sent and Just a Trace that I may hand over to D-Nice for his perusal. I'm not a bassist, so I won't pretend to tell him what's best... but I like to think they're pretty solid. I know that I have to write up each song so that I have every lyric with every chord slated out... and even tab out the few riffs for dad... and hand the sheets over to both men, but I think this is going well. David and I will be laying down drum tracks - ALL OF THEM - during Thanksgiving weekend. I don't care what anyone else gets me, knowing that my drum tracks are laid and we can start moving forward... that's going to be the best present of all!
I'm really psyched about the new disk. I still don't know if it'll be "Singer Not The Song", or "See For Miles" or "Behind Blue" but I do believe, honestly, that it's going to be better than "Lighting the Dark", which would be interesting, seeing as how I think that album came out VERY well (except for one song). I'm even bringing in Mike "Rock n Roll" DiMartino to play lead on Just a Trace. This should be fun.
