Las Vegas, NV – International Championship Fighting announces their second Amateur Mixed Martial Arts competition. Fighters training locally and abroad will meet in the fight capital of the world, with an opportunity to separate themselves en route to stardom in a professional fighting organization. That night will include 14 fights, both male and female. The ICF will televise the best action from inside the cage weekly on My LVTV Chanel 12 starting in April. The ICF along with the Warrior Training Center, home of UFC fighter Forrest Griffin, are excited to host this inaugural event on Saturday, March 21, 2009.
The official weigh-in is Friday, March 20, 2009 located at 6670 S. Tenaya Way , Las Vegas, NV. “This is going to be another vehicle for amateurs to establish themselves in MMA,” INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHTING President Rico White said. “MMA is overtaking boxing. Here is an opportunity to watch up-and-comers of the sport, the top seeded fighters will be in the UFC and WEC and our organization the ICF. This is a chance for people to follow the career path of fighters and become fans before they become superstars.”
Forrest Griffin, former UFC World Champion will be in attendance taking pictures and signing autographs. Xyience model and former UFC Octagon Girl Amber Nicole, will also be on hand along with other local UFC fighters who train at Warrior Training Center.
Bryan Salmond, ABC Channel 13 Sports Anchor in Las Vegas, creator of the popular Tapout of the Week, will commentate. Bryan will have a special-guest color commentator lending their experience and expertise to “The Power of Champions 2” extravaganza.
The Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Event offers a great fight card. Fighters will travel from all over the country, which includes the California Bay area, as far as ..Des Moines, Atlanta, St Louis, and Florida, to compete in this exciting event.
“MMA fans want more than just the UFC.” White said. “International Championship Fighting provides a new organization for up and comers, much like UFC’s ‘The Ultimate Fighter®’, but this competition provides an outlet for those not yet ready for UFC’s cage and also women to compete."
