I've been with The Beach Theatre for a year now and never before have I seen such a list of movies occuring in a single week! I've logged a lot of hours getting all of this up on the website, calendar, and MySpace page, so hopefully, all of these events will reach the people who would want to attend them.
 
The weeks here start on Friday and go through Thursday, so this week, we have:

1) 3 Daily Features
These movies are the main movies of the week and run every day. They are WHATEVER HAPPENS, EVERY LITTLE STEP, and FOOD, INC. For more information, including storylines, trailers, reviews, etc, please see our Now Playing page: http://www.beachtheatre.com/nowplaying.html

2) 1 Foreign film
1 Janus foreign film will run every Sunday this week at 11am. This week, it is LA Strada (aka THE ROAD). For more info, to buy your ticket online, or for more info about the movies, please see our Janus page: http://www.beachtheatre.com/janus.html

3) 1 Opera
There will be one opera shown each Sunday at 7pm this month. This week starts it off with DON GIOVANNI. Tickets are $20 each. For more information, for more opera info, and to buy your tickets online, please see our Operas page: http://www.beachtheatre.com/operas.html

4) 3 Benefits
The Beach Theatre periodically does benefit shows to raise money for other organizations like WMNF 88.5 Community Radio (www.wmnf.org) and the Suncoast Surfriders Foundation (www.suncoastsurfrider.org). While there might usually be one benefit per month at the theatre, just in this week alone, there will be three; two for WMNF  and one for the SSF.

WMNF radio is Tampa-based and 100% community supported, so no one tells them what to play or when (wmnf.org). The WMNF benefits will be WOODSTOCK: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT and LOVE: FOREVER CHANGES LIVE. The Suncoast Surfriders Foundation (SSF) is a non-profit organization whose mission is the protection and enjoyment of the worlds oceans and beaches. The SSF benefit will be a 4-movies-for-$10 special with live music and a raffle of surf equipment. For more information, please see our SSF page: http://www.beachtheatre.com/ssf.html

5) 1 Rocky show
This Saturday night, as with every Saturday night, THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW will play at 11:50pm with a live cast, "Interchangeable Parts" (ip.rhps.org). This weekend; however, will be different in that it is CARTOON NIGHT where the cast will be dressing up as cartoons while they perform the show. Audience participation is encouraged, as always. The movie, and especially the show, are rated R, so no one under 17 is admitted without parent or guardian. Tickets are $5. 6) 1 Kids Show
Every Saturday morning, at 10am, The Beach Theatre shows a kid-friendly, family-friendly movie for FREE. 100%, totally free. No purchase required. This week, the movie will be STAR TREK 2: THE WRATH OF KHAN, sponsored by Fit For Life [http://www.iamfitforlife.com]. This summer has an '80s theme. 7) 4 Surf Movies

These four surf movies are related to one of the benefits mentioned above for the Suncoast Surfriders Foundation (see the benefits section earlier). The Surf event kicks off with a live band called the HODADDYS [http://hodaddys.com] that has a "surf rock" sound and no vocals. According to their website, they "catapult you to pristine beaches of Southern California" and "vault you in a time warp to the early ’60s when Surf rock shaped an entire generation." After the band finishes up, the movies begin and somewhere in the mix will be the raffle for the surf equipment. The event schedule is:
3:00 PM - The HODADDYS perform live
4:00 PM - "Stranger Things Happen"
5:30 PM - "The Present"
7:30 PM - "The Search for Animal Chin"
9:00 PM - "The Endless Summer"
