The Zips           PRESS RELEASE     15/9/06
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Glasgow band, The Zips release their debut album, Guitars4Hire on
September 28th 2006 - 27 years after their debut single!
Having been around at Punk's birth in the Seventies, splitting up as
it was overtaken by Ska and New Romantics in the Eighties, and
re-forming due to European
bootleg interest and internet bidding wars for their back catalogue in
the Noughties, The Zips now find themselves in the midst of the new
guitar band explosion in
the UK, and they are loving every minute of it.
Lead singer, Jonzip maintains "There's never been a better time to
release this cd, since 1977. There's a whole new audience for raw,
energetic, back-to-basics rock 'n'
roll, which is what punk music was all about. We and the other young
bands of guitar heroes are living-proof that there's life after techno,
emo and Saga Radio.

Guitars4Hire is released on Tenement Toons " 28/9/06 " and will be
available via Avalanche Records in Glasgow & Edinburgh, the rest of the
world on-line at
www.cdbaby.com and www.emubands.com, or via info@thezips.com. Alternatively,
you can buy copies at gigs (check gig dates).

Guitars4Hire - 12 tracks, 4 guys, 3 chords, 2 minute buzzbombs,1
helluva cd!

The Zips - old enough to know better that the only thing worth
knowing is the words to Know Your Rights by The Clash.

Hi Stephen,
yea we keep forgettin' about the album, 'cos we've been puntin' the 30 Years of Punk Rock ep. so much so, that we didn't realise we were running out of copies. I'll need to blag some back from Avalanche to tide us over until we get a new batch re-pressed.
cheers,
jonzip
