The Zips ep Re-Issue Escapes from Sing Sing 09/04/09…..

The Zips, the band that gave you 30 Years Of Punk Rock, are proud to announce 30 years of The Zips ep!

To mark the anniversary of the release of their debut single, on 18th April 1979, Brooklyn-based Sing Sing Records have re-issued a limited-edition in its original 7” vinyl format, complete with stickers and lyric sheet.

Sing Sing were keen to capitalise on the continued interest in the record, a copy of which recently fetched $427 on the internet, and was voted 37th in the Top 100 most collectible punk singles, in Record Collector. Not bad for a collection of 4 songs, recorded in Autumn 1978, in a frantic 4 hour session, during afternoon closing in the long-gone, Burns Howff lounge bar, in Glasgow.
