THE EASTERN KENTUCKY RELIGOUS BROADCASTERS CHURCH RADIO PROGRAM STYLE GUIDE
All programs must be done live on a Sunday afteroon in the studio just
like Paul and the Apostles did them. Bring the Pastor and as many
singers(aka "sangers") as can fit into the studio. 1-4 guitars should
be brought in for musical accompaniment**. The following format should
be used:
**-tambourines optional and not reccomended if you're Baptist or
Methodist.

00:00:00: Opening theme song. Begin singing this when the red light in
the studio goes on.

00:01:30: Have the Pastor or Church spokesman welcome "all our friends
and neighbors in radio land"(this phrase MUST be used). After
welcoming the audience, the pastor/spokesman will then dedicate the
program "to all the sick and shut ins"(this phrase MUST be used) as
well as a minimum of 12 people, each of whom shall be mentioned by
name. The pastor/spokesman will then mention at least 10 prayer
requests. Deal in specifics here: If Cousin Luther missed Church for a
Reds ballgame, let the community know how backslidden he truly is!

00:11:30: First special song. The singer should preface their song by
asking for prayer and saying that they really can't sing, they just
want to be a blessing. Before proving that this is true, he/she must
dedicate their song to all the sick and shut ins as well as a minimum
of 10 people, each of whom shall be metioned by name. Then the song
can begin. This song, although announced as a solo, will be sung in
unison by everyone in the studio. Although the lyrics must be
different, the melody and tempo of the song should be similar or the
same as the opening song.

00:16:45: Song/testimony. The spokesman should introduce the next
person as follows:"__________ is gonna sing or testify or maybe both.
I'm not sure which." Before either singing or testifying (or both),
this person must dedicate the program to the sick and the shut ins as
well as a minimum of 10 people, each of whom shall be mentioned by
name. If the person sings, the guitarists/singers should join in
immediately. If you can't tell whether the person is singing or
testifying, it is best to just say "amen".

[Note: If the person starts by saying that they really can't sing, they're probably fixing to. Nobody mentions their lack of singing ability when testifying.]

00:21:50: Announcements of the Church's services should be made at
this time. Also, any dedications that might have been forgotten.

00:25:00: Sermon. At this point, the Pastor should begin to preach.
His inital sentence (and every third sentence thereafter) should be
"Well, I see my time's about gone".

00:29:00: Closing song. At this point, while the Pastor is still
preaching, the singers should begin singing at the top of their lungs.
The Pastor should yell as loud as possible to be heard over the
singers.

00:30:00 At this point, the red light should have gone out and the
program should be over. Proceed out of the studio in an orderly
fashion.

I've heard it done this way a lot in KY, OH, and IN! :-)
