Current mood: pissed off
What a great time at this show (note the sarcasm). Trouble started as
soon as we got there. The door guy was trying to tell us our band
couldn't be in the venue because we weren't 21. This was at 7:15 and we
weren't supposed to play until 10:15. So then he told us to come back
right before we were supposed to play and load in then. Finally I asked
to talk to the promoter, and she didn't have any clue how to run a
show. She was no help at all with finding us a place to hang before we
played, so I talked to the bartender. He finally just marked our hands
and let us in. What an ordeal just to get our gear inside of the venue.
We were super excited to play with Pat King and the Designated
Drivers, as well as The Candy Hearts, and all three bands played kick
ass sets. Then more problems. The door guy came up to us
immediately after we finished our set and told us we had to move all of
our stuff out right away. We couldn't even have a few minutes to talk
to the people who came to check out the music. Oh yeah and the promoter
left before any of the bands we were with even played. Leaving with all
the door money and not letting anyone know how many people each band
drew or paying us.
Overall The Annex is probably the most
unprofessional venue I've ever played at which is a shame, because with
some competent people working there the place could be awesome. We
won't be back there anytime soon.
peace, Clay
