This is my second time at Harpos'. seeing as how i was let out early during work i had a nice nap and a Joe Gray style sandwitch for lunch. Though when im awake, i came up with the crazy idea that i wanted to skip rush hour traffic, so i get on the e-way at around 3:30 and end up there at 4:40. Problem is, doors don't open till 6

I end up having a hot n ready pizza for my early dinner and end up waiting in line untill 6:35 to get in. I love Harpos', but some of the management is fucking retarded. Picture about 50 ppl lined along the sidewalk in the cold getting drunk or being harrased by the townsfolk for drugs. Soon enough more ppl rushed in. Altogether this was a larger crowd already than on the 15th when it came to the openers.

What was suprising was they were diverse and remotly talented this time.
in fact for 1/2 the bands that was an understatement.

the first opener was decent. It blew me away that the guy could actually sing. but everything around was too poppy for me.

the next band was a Motley Crue tribute band out of Kalamazoo. In fact this sounded better than when I saw Vince Neil. From Red Hot to Love Potion 69. I was pleased that there were good bands for a change. That and due to ticket sales or a case of Blackie strongarming the management, each band had double the time that Exodus' openers and supporting acts had.

the next band was the equivilent to Alice in Chains meets screamo.

after that a comedy set band, Wall of Beer: Fall of Disco had a great set. ending with a new anthem Beer Me Bitch!

Another band with a talented lead guitarist played next, unfortunetly it was mostly dog barking vocal work.

I don't even know how i should explain the next band. all i can say is they should have been the opener.

Finnaly an unlisted main supporting act came up. Fatal Smile. 1 of the leaders of Sweden's Glam scene. Singer was a bit like Andi Deris, while the other players had a orgininal flair. though the bass player kept knocking down a speaker. The thing is most bands usually rest a leg on a speaker during the show, either for crowd enjoyment or to nurse a cramp. these speakers however would easily bend down and then spring back up. Though this didn't affect the music at all. great show.
The main event WASP is finally up. the place is packed now. The set has little to no lighting, while the screen above the drummer has this video playing about a child growing up from the hell his parents created. The beggining of the Crimson Idol album. The entire album is played along with the video as the kid grows up, moves out, becomes a guitar hero, only to succumb to drugs, alcohol, and pain from both his past and present.
This album is one of WASP's best selling records.
Hearing Chainsaw Charlie and The Idol live were great.
After the video ends, WASP takes about a 10 minute intermission. They come back to support both their older material and the new album Dominator.
L.O.V.E Machine
Wild Child
Blind in Texas
were greatest hits on my cd which they played live. with 1 song off of Dominator, i think its called "take me up"
had loads of fun.
