Hey Guys, Hope you're well :) I wanted to share with you, a few tips which you can do to protect yourself from unwanted messages, comments or friend requests on the site. At MySpace we take cyberbullying and harassment extremely seriously, as both violate our terms of use. If you feel like you have been a victim, always report it to us and we’ll help you ok? Here's a few features you can use to stay safe.
Block Users This is an option, which is on the contact table of everyone’s profile. If you click on this, the person who owns that profile will be unable to contact you anymore or see when you are online.
Privacy Settings You can set your MySpace profile to ‘private’ so that only your friends can see your profile, anyone who isn’t a friend, won’t be able to see your full profile. If you’re using MySpace Profile 2. 0 you can select certain sections on the page to be private. To do this, select 'Customize Profile if you’re under 16, your profile is automatically set to private, so that only your friends can be within your network. Change your privacy settings.
Your Location Try using your suburb to detail your location, rather than a street number or name if your profile is set to public. This will make it harder for school yard bullies to track you down online. Don’t forget if you are having your profile set as “public” the whole world can see it, so be careful about the information and images you share. Location settings here.
Tell MySpace If you feel you have been victim or if you have seen evidence of someone getting bullied on MySpace, please click on the 'Contact MySpace' link, which is at the bottom of every MySpace page. Once clicked, select 'Report Abuse' > 'Cyber Bullying' and follow the steps to report it. I hope that helps and if you have any questions, feel free to drop me a message hereJulie
