Current mood:Chillin’

So it's last Saturday night and we're in day two of the heat wave. Around 11 pm the central air goes out and me without any spare portable AC units( and why would I have them? I have CENTRAL air )...

Suffice to say, it got pretty darned HOT. Monday morning when I left the house the thermostat read a cool 87 degrees. I was fortunate to only have to suffer a short time before the unit was fixed but it sure made me appreciate that big box outside my house.....

My question is, how did people back in the day survive without air conditioning at all (or fans for that matter)???

I'm guessing hand-powered fans, damp towels, and jumpin' in the creek. Probably not as concerned about smelling fresh as we are, either!
