I went to see REO Speedwagon at the State Theatre last night. The first time my favorite band has played in my home town. I've seen them six times and have to say that this one was the absolute BEST.
They always play the usual fan favorites like Roll With The Changes, Ridin' The Storm Out, Can't Fight This Feeling and Keep on Lovin You. But they also opened the "vault" to some of their older 70's songs: Golden Country and Son of A Poor Man.
Mixed in was Kevin Cronin's solo acoustic version of In My Dreams from the "Life as We Know It" album. He performed it on a Martin and gave kudos to the factory right up the road.
I was able to garner a signature or two on my "Wheel's are Turnin" LP (does anyone remember vinyl)? Even from Neal Doughty whose keyboard work I've been a huge fan of for years came over and autographed my copy. The album now displays prominently in my office.
Check out some of the pics I have posted. I'm a happy fan! Rock On!
