Jolly June to everyone!
I've decided to start sending out monthly updates as opposed to the weekly updates I've been doing for the last few months. This will provide me an opportunity to let you know other things beside the gigs I have going on. As many of you know, I play at Blue 82 (82 North Pearl St. in Albany, NY) every Tuesday and Mocha Lisa's Caffe (22 Clifton Park Dr. {Clifton Park Center} in Clifton Park, NY every Thursday. There's always a place to see me play guitar sing and act like a crazy man!
With that being said, I do have a lot of big shows coming up in June. This weekend, the 14th and 15th I'll be featured at the LARAC Festival in Glens Falls, NY. You'll be able to hear my dulcet tones all the way down Glen St. If you get confused, listen to the music play. Saturday I play @ 11am and Sunday, I'll be taking the stage at 2pm. Keep checking mikesong.com and this handy calendar I've attached to this page and see where I'll be playing so you can get your Mike Thomas fix.
Coffeehouses generally don't like pyrotechnics. I found this out last Thursday up at Mocha Lisa's. My recently purchased power amp blew up and made the place smell great! Nothing makes me want to drink coffee and eat baked goods more than the wafting aroma of burned wires and plastic. Yum! Thanks Jackie!
The new band I play bass in, Big Nixon, was the runner up in the 37th annual Freihofer (I know that's not spelled right) Run For Women's Spirit on the course battle of the bands. Maybe we would have won if I wore those delicious runner's shorts. Next time.
I'm busy at Cat Trax Recording in Historic Schenectady, NY with Josh Herzog finishing the tracking on my upcoming release. I know I said I'd have it released by May. I also said I'd have it done at various times over the last few years. I'm now shooting for a fall release, right in time for the holiday season. Please buy it, I need to get gifts for people.
