COLUMBUS, GA HOSTS EVENTS OF ALL TYPES
Columbus is not just softball and soccer
Columbus, GA – August 11, 2008 – Columbus is currently known as a softball venue. This is due mostly to the Olympic Softball being held here in 1996, but it is so much more. Each year thousands of people come to Columbus to play in many different tournaments, playoffs, and championships. Filling hotels and restaurants, these out of town visitors tell us, "Columbus has the most beautiful facilities," of other places they have traveled to.
Many event coordinators don't realize though all Columbus has to offer! We have several multipurpose facilities that can be used for events such as karate, wrestling, basketball, paintball, mountain biking, tennis, tumbling, cheerleading and the list goes on.
Columbus offers such a wide variety of facilities to host events that we can think out side the box for events as well. Such was the situation with the Aflac Outdoor Games. We hosted the STIHL TimberSports events along with Dock Dogs, Agility dogs and a Kansas City BBQ contest on the same fields we offer for fastpich softball.
With Columbus being on the Chattahoochee River, and it being opened in the coming years to white water rafting, we feel Columbus will just keep growing in popularity for all kinds of sporting events.
