I can't remember the last time I was this moved by music.

Tonight I was watching some youtube videos of my all time favorite performer, Glenn Gould (a Canadian pianist).  I stumbled upon a video of an interview with Gould, and his thoughts on another one of my favorite performers: Sviatoslav Richter.  The video brought out so many feelings that have been hiding away for some time now.  It was one of those pivotal moments that hangs in the balance of overwhelming joy and an uneasy sense of insecurity.  I could go into details about what this means to me and my music, but I will just post the video instead.  I hope you can find something here for you as well.  Your thoughts are welcome below.

Though I run the risk of sounding cliche, but I can hear the same nurturing of the keys in your playing as Richter's. It's as if each key plucks away in some kind of beautiful pain, that you must let out. I've never seen this before, perhaps why your music sounds so original is because you convey they same feeling I'm extracting from Richter's playing. Even your voice does it. It's as if you're always cold or in pain, but not a negative sense; rather mainly what you invoke and where it takes me. Perhaps I'm just mumbling, but that's where I go when I hear it. To a place, or a picture in my mind, it's something I desire of my own music.
