blasphemer-on the inexistence of god cd {comatose music}done by patrick}

this is proably one of the more extreme,brutal bands i have heard from italy in awhile.the band wastes no time
in destroying the listeners eardrums with psychotic brutal blast beats.sick deep vocals and occasional shrieks of blasphemous hate.and the guitars and bass are played at lightning fast speed and add a nice final element to blasphemer wall of sound.some technical guitar riffs are added to keep the band sound interesting and fresh.blasphemer have released one of the sickest releases of 2009!! fans of u.s style brutality will want this in their collection.

bloodsoaked--sadisticdeeds...grotesque memories cd {comatose music}{done by patrick}
bloodsoaked are a band i have been hearing/reading alot about the last year or so.so i was excited to finally get the chance to hear the band's new cd.was it worth the wait? does bloodsoaked live up to the hype/coverage? in a word yes!! and more.extremly barbaric death metal with a old-school death metal influence all executed with class and originality while not sacrificing any of the brutality.complex guitar riffs/solo's vicious growls and shrieks and very well programmed drum machine {trust me almost sounds like a human drummer} fans of {early}deicide,malevolent creation or barbaric death metal in general will not want to miss out on bloodsoaked!!!

bone gnawer--feast of flesh cd {pulverized rec.}{done by patrick}
now this is what horror/gore metal should sound like! bone gnawer feature some great musicians within the u.s/swedish scenes.kam lee {legendary vocalist}rogga johanson{paganizer} morgan lie{from the swedish black metal masters naglfar} as well as "guest appearances" from killjoy and dopi{machetzo} the music these metal masters create on feast of flesh is pure genius.fast upbeat thrashing old-school death metal.even some slower slam style moments creep into the bands brutal sound.each song is well-written and thought out and sounds different from the next to let each song stand on their own.fans of early autopsy,early 90's floridia style death metal should defintly look for bone gnawer.

cyclotron--into a subconscious surreality demo {self-released}{done by patrick}
this is a demo i have been waiting to hear for a few months now.and germany's cyclotron do not disapoint one bit.7 tracks of brutal,technical death metal with grind influences.for those of you who have heard the "debut" demo from cyclotron.the band seems to be moving away from the expirmental/industrial influences which were a big part of the bands debut.on "into a subconscious surreality"the band has gone more in the "technical"death metal realm with some amazing guitar work and solo's.the drums{which are programmed} are blasting assults of insanity but also have at times some actual mid-paced drum patterns which fit perfectly into the bands original,and brutal sound.the vocals are brutal growls and occasionally whispery style of vocals.fans of brutal,technical death metal will enjoy cyclotron's brutal yet original approach to death metal.
{SPECIAL NOTE TO READERS:at time of writing/posting this review cyclotron are offering BOTH demo's for FREE-download from their myspace page.so if interested take a few minutes and listen,and download.

december's cold winter-ablaze all shrines cd {self-released}{done by patrick}
according to the band's bio they released this cd themselves.which is a surprise to me considering the music released on ablaze all shrines is some of the best death metal ever recorded on a cd.the costa rican band has a flawless sound of straight-forward death metal and some thrash influence in the guitars.sick growls and intense shrieks fit perfectly into december's brutal sound.this should please both fans of death/thrash metal or pure death metal.

flagellation--incinerate,disentegrate mcd {last entertainment prod.}{done by patrick}
flagellation hail from sweden and what a metal masterpiece the band has created here with incinerate,disintegrate.6 tracks of dark death/thrash metal!! the band seems to have a very aggressive sound and approach.but also add some very "epic" and dark atmosphere within the aggression.starting the cd off with a orchestrated and epic intro the band quickly springs into a more aggressive thrashing sound.the vocals are gruff and fit well within the bands sound.flagellation are one of the more original sounding bands and should surprise alot of fans into dark aggressive death/thrash.

HACRIDE "LAZARUS"

Reviewed by Lori

Hacride is a 4 peace band from France. Their music is different...hard to describe. At times it is tech. death, extreme metal to avant guard, groove all in one song. Vocals also change from death style to screams to more of a singing style.
Through out the CD your mind rips through the different layers of each song, almost hypnotized and relaxed by the calmness you'll feel,but then jerked into a black hole of pain and confusion. .
The production is well done, very clear and has a rich velvety aspect, but the death metal parts kinda ruin it. They are not a good death metal band, but what they are good at is avant guard and the other parts of their music.
I really dig the parts of the song "to walk among them", the melodic metal parts with the rough vocals and the funky bad ass guitar riffs the follows. Eck then comes the death metal that ruins it, but its not horrible. Then towards the middle of the song there is a nice calm spot with clean vocal then there comes the death again. They need to ditch their death metal days....seriously.
Each song is very long, and through out the songs the changes death metal to melodic, avant guard, etc is flawless, effortless.
The longer I listen to the CD the less I want to toss it is the trash when I am done reviewing.

HATESPHERE "TO THE NINES" CD
Napalm records

Reviewed by Lori

This is the 5 piece Danish band's latest release, "to the nines". Formed in the year of 2000 by guitarist Peter Hansen this bad ass trash death band quickly dominated the scene and to this date still dominating with ferocity. After the last album their was a line up change, all members are different except for Peter H.
Through out this release you will hear high speed riffs, memorable melodies and technical power, and awesome solos, brilliance!
So far the song that stick out is "cloaked in shit". Starts off with hypnotic thrasy riffs than the sore throat scream/gutturals blast through. I feel my head nodding, foot taping then comes. the drummer wale on the drums/symbols helping to bring "cloaked in shit" one of the best songs on the album.
"Clarity" tromps in right after with a galloping beat, deep gutturals, mid temple riffs, a smooth groovy sound...than heavy head banging riffs, agony screams, back to the galloping, another great song.
Fans of this genera should check this band out. From what I have read as Ive never heard their earlier albums is that this release is different than there past ones. Some like some dont, but in my opinion you will not regret checking out "to the nines"

inhumate-the fifth season cd {grind your soul}{reviewed by patrick}
after a five year abscence of up's and down's.france's legendary death/grinders return with their best release to date! with each release the band have written the lyrics in a concept format.this time around the band explores some topics such as time,wisdom,and knowledge.fans of extreme grind don't let the above sentence scare you the band has gone beyond the gore/porn grind-core of most of today's scene but this band is not weak by any means.the cd includes 19 tracks pure in your face grind/death metal.some of the fastest blast beats to be recorded sick,deranged shrieks all combined to prove once and for all inhumate are back to take their throne back as one of the leading gods of grind.

malebolgia-requiems for the inexorable cd {comatose records} reviewed by patrick}

this is my first encounter with malebolgia.and i must say on my 2nd listen this is not a bad release at all..the band brings the listener 12 tracks of brutal pummeling death metal.the band mixes some older death/grind with touches of the newer generation brutal blasting death metal.the band does slow the pace down with a few breaks and more mid-paced passages.the vocals are harsh brutal growls with some technical guitar riffs and solo's.fans of immolation,monstrosity and technical death bands should enjoy this new release from this up and coming u.s band.

pathology--age of onset cd {comatose records}{reviewed by patrick}
i knew pathology would find a good home and label to release their brutal sickness on.i had heard this bands previous release 2008's "incisions of pure debauchery".between the two releases pathology found a new vocalist in the way of matti way{ex-disgorge} his pure guttural vokills fit perfect with pathology's brutal sick death metal.deep guttural vokills,some of the best and intense drumming to be heard. and a heavy guitar/bass all of these elements mixed with a top-notch production will please fans of suffocation,fleshgrind{r.i.p} and mid-90's u.s guttural brutality!!
