So I've always found advertisements for food that feature extremely happy cartoon representations of that food really funny. I thought it was just my own weird little fascination, but recently I've learned that my friends Cory Branan and Nels Andrews also find great humor in these advertisements.

The reason I'm thinking about it right now is that during breakfast with my old friend and collaborator, Todd Sickafoose, I saw this great one for a "meat, poultry and seafood" company that features not one, not two, but three really happy cartoon animals who are about to be eaten. (Last I checked poultry and seafood are technically meats, so not sure why the redundancy in their advertisement, but whatever...) The picture -- which I've posted in the 'mile markers' section of my official website, www.RoachMusic.com -- features either a very tiny cow and chicken with a lobster, or a terrifyingly large lobster and chicken with a cow... there's no reference for scale. But you know, everyone has seen bovines, fowl and crustaceans hanging out together. Pretty common sight really.

I find the whole scene being depicted here absolutely hilarious. The slogan, 'Just a little bit better' is really the icing on the cake.
