GUAVAWEEN A SUCCESS!
This Halloween, Soulidium & Vicious Angelz had an opportunity to produce the 2009 Guavaween parade event along with long time event promoters CC Events. When we had heard some of the negative press about the event not having a parade this year and the fact that alot of people were really upset, it got us to thinking.. "hmm.. we can do this. This can be something for us all.." We saw a clear opportunity and knew we could pull this off IF we united our many talented friends around Tampa. We thought this event should belong to the artist's of Tampa and that same element, would surely be the very thing that turned it around and saved it. Ybor is such an awesome, historical place that it would a shame to see this event sink.
..We came up with a parade plan that complimented the historical feel of Ybor and with the blessings of the coordinators, started to recruit talent for the event and put into action a horse/carriage drawn Halloween event that incorporated firebreathers, gypsy horse performers, fan performers, stilt walkers, wrestlers of the WWE, (Sinn Bohdi, Titan, etc), vampires, freak show talent, the Derby Darlins skaters, zombies on chains, and a wealth of the talent from all around Tampa.
We produced some television commercials in which we killed Lauren and Jesse of 98 Rock, (as seen below & on Verizon Fios, MTV & VH1) and had a blast planning and executing this event with the help of our good friends in the artistic community including the mega-talented XZanthia. With the amazing talents of Special FX artist Chris Polidoro (Soulidium) and his team, we were able to assemble an army of 300+ zombies and vampires in Soulidium's Army of the Dead to take command of 7th in Ybor..
