Hey guys! well just in case u did or didn't see us, caitlin and me both were @ the CMT awards!! I called up an old friend today I hadn't talked to in a long time, "james hoskins." big james used to play bass for me back when I lived in ohio as a teen. We were like brothers. well today I got a good chance to fill him in on everything that's went on in caitlin and my life since james has been gone for the last few months in the army and hardly gets to talk. I talked and talked about last night!! Dude, the cmt's were killer. I have to say, it was almost as much fun as cma fest. I really did enjoy meeting all the fans "friends" we have made over the last year! U all rock! Well anyway, caitlin and I roll into the backstage early for makeup since the only slot we could fit into was the early ones. well thank God that worked out. it was for the best... Cause honestly as much as I like to hang around and watch holly put caitlin makeup on, I was more into hangin in the hallway like a kid, freaking out when the stars walked by. U better believe I was shaking hands like crazy lol. It was great, the bad thing was... As much as I'd love to lead u on to believe I'm fearless and unafraid, I about died when keith urban walked by lol. I guess I look up to the man so much, and in such a strong way he has been a big part of my love for that style of country, I love how he takes the country sound and blends a touch of pop, and with some very 70's styled rock riffs... He is very tasteful in the way he arranges his music... Anyway, I was afraid to step out and say hi. Plus, the guy was power walking the halls, and I didn't want to slow him down. everyone was running from place to place trying to get what they had to do done on time lol. So even though I didn't meet him, we r doing a show with keith @ some big fest this summer, @ least I heard rumor of it lol... So I'm thinking that may be a better time to meet and hang for a bit. But even though I did skip out on meeting keith, randy jackson, and taylor swift, cause of them being in a rush... I did meet kid rock!!! Holy freaking crap lol haha!! Yep. Need I say more, the guy is a master mind @ what he does. whether u love or hate it, I think we all can agree, he's good @ what he does. It was one of the coolest moments for me. Not only was it great knowing I was meeting kid rock, but I was meeting the guy that is best friends with the lead singer of my favorite rock band ever "chad kroeger of nickelback" that was enough to give me chills lol... Even though I'm very much a fan of a lot of people, my challenge for the night was playing it cool lol. Not walking up and flipping out lol. I did a great job too. "pat on the back." however, I did slip up once lol, I was standing talking to caitlin and trace atkins walked over, and very loud I put out my hand and said, "good lord! Trace atkins!... I got a hand shake... I have to say, that's one gaint country singer. Trace if u ever read this, ur big. Really big... Like I've ran across a few people that I was shocked by how much smaller they are in person, but never how big someone is... I really do look up to him. I think trace is a cool mix of butt kicking country, and humor, with a serious side that anyone can relate to. But anyway... Since I've told u all that, I can't leave out the best part over than the show itself... And u probably seen that, so I won't say as much about that... But the red carpet!! It was our first time walking the red carpet! I felt like a star and important lol, not a bad feeling. We talked to so many people interviewing us, and posed for tons of pics... But I thought it was great running into "love and theft." love those guys. they've become very good friends of mine and cait out on the road. It was cool getting to share that whole experience with them. The only thing I can compare the feeling to is, when your a little kid and u can be careless and get lost in the moment when good things happen like your birthday or christmas... Well, that's what last night was for me. Imagine what it will be like being able to sing on the awards, or who knows, win one... People, if we ever get on there... Vote for us, winning an award would be fantastic... Or as taylor swift says... "But it's my dream" loved that little clip @ the begining of the show lol!! Laughed hard enough to embarrass cait lol.
