Come check out the sky hi page on facebook and stay up to date w/ all the fellas!

And the 45 is nearing completion. That analog work takes some time, we have been wanting to make sure the publishing is on point since we are using some lyrics from Duke Ellington for "smoothie pie," and of course Nick Devan wants to make sure that the mixes are as close to perfect as possible.

But that little slab o' vinyl is on its way! Here is the press sheet that will be accompanying it:

GED-005 Sky Hi - "Smoothie Pie" b/w "Get Yourself Together"

G.E.D. Soul is proud to present the debut 45 from the newest G.E.D. family member, Tennessee's premier funk and soul group, Sky Hi! Sky Hi is a seven piece that has been rocking the country from the coast to the mountain peaks for many moons, and we are pleased to lay down two super soulful numbers featuring G.E.D.'s very own DeRobert and members of the half-truths.

You like smooth? You like pie? Then you will love "Smoothie Pie", the mellow A-side that goes down easy, but haint got nothing to do with pie! DeRobert drops some serious reflections on solitude using the wise words of the masterful Duke Ellington. "Smoothie Pie" wraps it up with keyboardist Bus Stop on the rhodes and guitarist Josh Sable trading twos on the outro.

Has the crunch got you down? Just can't seem to find that needed motivation? Well, you better listen to what DeRobert has to say and "Get Yourself Together," cause those problems ain't gonna fix themselves by themselves! This positive mid-tempo slice of soul doubles it up with a Motown inspired  verse and a crunchy Hammond organ fueled chorus. Top it off with a creamy sax solo by The Half-Truths very own Mark Spain, and you've got one super smooth number you won't be able to quit spinning!
