Debutto in grande stile per i nostrani Sound Storm che, grazie al supporto dell’inglese Rising Records e al mastering dei mitici Finnvox Studios finlandesi, si lanciano in un prodotto ambizioso ma di chiara ricezione, in cui buona parte del giudizio complessivo è giocato dalla produzione, talmente cristallina – per non dire favolosa – da risultare a tratti artificiale.
“Twilight Opera”, in fondo, è un’onesta prova del fuoco per una band che gioca col power metal sinfonico con la stessa familiarità mostrata da un pescivendolo nella vendita di carpe e orate.
Eccellente la scrittura dei singoli brani, al pari degli arrangiamenti, principeschi e raffinati, e delle orchestrazioni che ne incrementano l’appeal mostrato in precedenza da Kamelot e Symphony X.
Letstat, singer dalla valenza teatrale, merita menzione per il taglio operistico e la modulazione vocale infusi; non da meno il contributo dello scuro Sadwise (batterista e voce growl), di Max al basso, dell’amletico Verderosa alle tastiere e del sibillino Dusk alle chitarre: tutti insieme, lungo un’epopea che spazia dall’inevitabile “già sentito” al riciclo di tali sonorità – molto in voga nella Penisola – in una chiave non personalissima ma certo prossima ad ammantare un’identità ben definita.
Questione di mesi, questione di un secondo album. D’altronde il futuro, per questi ragazzi, difficilmente sarà in salita.

Debut in grand style for our own Sound Storm, thanks to the support of the british Rising Records and mastering at the legendary Finnvox Studios in Finland, they initiate a product of ambitious but clear reception, where much of the verdict is played by the production , so crystal clear - not to tell stories - sometimes as to be artificial.
"Twilight Opera" is basically an honest test for a band that plays with symphonic power metal with the same familiarity as shown by a fishmonger in the sale of carp and bream.
Excellent writing individual songs, like the arrangements, princely and refined, and the orchestrations that increase the appeal shown previously by Kamelot and Symphony X.
Letstat, singer from the theatrical value, deserves mention for cutting opera and voice modulation infusions, not least the contribution of dark Sadwise (drums and vocals growl), Max on bass, and cryptic to Dusk guitars: all together, along an epic that ranges from the inevitable "heard" the recycling of these sounds - very popular on the Peninsula - a key is not personal but certainly close to wrapping a clearly defined.
Matter of months, the question of a second album. Besides, the future for these children, is unlikely to be uphill.
