Hoedown in Motown … On a Boat! As
the Detroit Princess shoved off from the dock, a lady flashed her
breasts to the people on the mainland in between chants of "Let’s go
Red Wings!" coming from the Downtown Hoedown ‘09 at Hart Plaza. DDays
knew it was going to be that kind of a night. A place to see people and
be seen, Shiprocked on the Detroit Princess, an event sponsored by On
the Rocks Detroit, was a rowdy time featuring sets by Ty Stone and the
Truth, Brandon Calhoon, Robin Horlock and Frankie D’ Angelo (from what
we gathered from the audience, Ty Stone stole the show). After quick
warm-ups with Frankie and Robin, Ty Stone and his lead guitarist Billy
Reedy got the crowd moving with an impressive performance that left
them cheering for an encore. Reedy said after the performance, “We just
tried to put on a great show because that’s what we were there to do,
and you can’t forget that.”
