MAGIK MARKERS ::
Elisa
Ambrogio (guitar, vocals) and Pete Nolan (drums, vocals) started as the
Black and Blue Magik Markers in a basement in Hartford, Connecticut in
2001. Sonic Youth asked 'em to open on their U.S. tour in 2004, and
their vinyl-only debut, "I Trust My Guitar, Etc..." was released in
2005 on Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace label, as was their phenomenal
2007 full-length "Boss." Over the course of their eight-year existence,
they have self-released and personally handmade over twenty Magik
Markers albums, many of which are on Nolan's own imprint, Arbitrary
Signs. Magik Markers just released their brand new full-length "Balf
Quarry" on the Drag City label a couple weeks ago! It rulesss.

"Combining
the effects-heavy guitar excursions of Brian Sullivan with the free
jazz stylings of drummer/percussionist Nate Nelson, the Brooklyn-based
Mouthus utilize a combination of dense instrumentation and squelching,
overloaded noise to create a sound that ranges from dark and ambient to
piercing and tortured. Through a string of CD-R and vinyl releases, the
duo has distinguished itself in what is arguably the hub of
noise/experimental music on the East Coast, becoming a regular fixture
at the No Fun festival, as well as being selected by Thurston Moore to
perform at the 2006 All Tomorrow's Parties festival in England. Mouthus
formed in 2002, and later that year Psych-O-Path issued their
self-titled debut as a limited release. In 2004, the pair released the
LP Loam on Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace! imprint. In 2005, a
prolific year for Mouthus, they released the split LP 12-25-04 with San
Francisco-based performer Axolotl on Olde English Spelling Bee; the
limited CD-R/LP Bigger Throws on their label, Our Mouth Records; and
the LP Slow Globes and a split tour LP with Double Leopards, both on
Troubleman Unlimited. They kept up the pace in 2006, releasing the
split double LP Crippled Rosebud Binding with Double Leopards and
Sunroof! on Music Fellowship, the CD For the Great Slave Lakes on Three
Lobed Recordings, a limited self-titled LP on Olde English Spelling
Bee, the LP Sister Vibration on Our Mouth Records, and the CD The Long
Salt on Important Records. In 2007, Mouthus self-released the CD-R Dual
Drift and recorded their first official studio album, Saw a Halo,
released on Load Records." - Allmusic
SOFT CIRCLE ::
"Soft
Circle consists of one member, Hisham Akira Bharoocha. This music
project came about after Hisham left his former band, Black Dice, in
search of a new way to create music by himself. Through modern music
technology he has been able to create a way to perform on his own,
where he records and loops sounds live and then adds drums and singing.
Bharoocha started out making tribal/electronic/ambient anthems that
forged paths between the spirit world and the human tribes of past and
present. His new sound is still based on his fascination with
repetition, cyclical rhythms and trance inducing sounds, but has gone
further into the direction of heavy beats and more solidified song
structures, even using lyrics as a new means to communicate. Soft
Circle's first album 'Full Bloom' was released in 2007 on Eastern
Developments, His next release will be a split 12 inch with High Places
on the label PPM that will come out in June 2009. Currently Hisham is
working on his next full length album which is scheduled to be released
in September 2009. Bharoocha has toured with such bands as Boredoms, No
Age, and High Places. Bharoocha was the musical director for the now
legendary 77 BOADRUM performance, a musical composition composed by
Boredoms, which involved 77 drummers playing 77 drum kits in a spiral
formation at Empire Fulton Ferry State Park on July 7th, 2007. In
addition he was also the musical director for this year's 88 Boadrum
performance which happened on August 8th, 2008 with 88 drummers playing
with Boredoms in Los Angeles, as well as 88 drummers playing with Gang
Gang Dance in New York City on the same day." - Soft Circle

KNYFE HYTS ::
New 2009-era line-up! "The
krewe of Knyfe Hyts formed in the summer of 2006, when current members
of Ex Models, Pterodactyl, and Oneida rekindled their 14-year musical
relationship with role reversal, masquerade, power play, threesome,
chance, and ritualized improvisation, re-emerging as Bubo V, Brother
Khatamkari, and Brother Minakari. Instant magic." - GCT
