Pool Trade Show
Hip Hop/Gangsta ruled streetwear at Magic. Damon Dash's Roca Wear had a huge glossed up booth but unless you were some big to do buyer, this pimp shack was off limits.
Some pics from Pool Trade Show:

Things/ Trends I noticed :

Bandanas are huge. Not to wear on your head, son. Like over the lower third of your face. Yeah like a bank robber.
And this one actually had a whole barbershop thing going on and was giving out haircuts for real.
..
A cab driver told me that the convention brought in 100,000+ people to town. - I think over half had to have been the Japanese/Asia market buyers. They were at Magic in full force. I'd say they were by and large the biggest consumers/co-opters of the hip-hop streetwear floors. And I love how they take to the next level. See Nigo of BAPE.

..
A good way to secure business, I have found is to ply the potential buyer with plenty of free alcohol in their booths.

Another thing I saw a lot of is well I don't know what else to call cept
big DOOKIE Eyeglasses. Point of reference Fat Boys circa 1985
..
Free Shit = Bad Back Free shit is always a plus and there were tons of magazines to to be had. However I learned it is best to pick up your bounty
after you're done walking around cause the weight is equivalent to carrying around a bag of rocks and you'll end up getting real tired real quick.
prologue :All in all, there was a lot of great ideas and cool things to look at which helped get the creative juices flowin again so I'm glad I went.
Ironically the day I returned, I got in the mail my driver's license that I had lost 2 months ago from a previous trip to Las Vegas. It was accompanied with some christian literature and christian comics. Now I aint about to get paranoid or nothing but it was definitely creepy.
