JOSEPH ARTHUR & THE LONELY ASTRONAUTS
JOSEPH ARTHUR & THE LONELY ASTRONAUTS
The Lonely Astronauts came together in the summer of 2006 as a touring
band for Joseph Arthur's, 'Nuclear Daydream'.
With JA on lead vox/gtr, Jen Turner and Kraig Johnson on guitars/keys,
Sibyl Buck on bass and Greg "G. Wiz" Wieczorek on drums they found an
instant chemistry and began writing songs together on the road. Immediately following that tour they recorded, 'Let's Just Be' which was released in April of 2007.
Since then, the group has toured throughout the US, Canada, & Europe
and just completed their 2nd full-length album.
'Temporary People' will be released on September 30, 2008.

JOSEPH ARTHUR
singer/songwriter based in Brooklyn,
New York was discovered by Peter Gabriel in the 90s
and signed to the artist's Real World label with whom
he released his debut album Big City Secrets in 1997.
He later released his seven-song EP Vacancy in 1999
and received a Grammy nomination for Best Recording
Package, for his album artwork with co-art director
Zachary Larner.
In the year 2000 he signed a record deal with Virgin
Records, a label he then recorded the album
Come To Where I'm From, the four-EP series Junkyard
Hearts, and two other albums; Redemption's Son and
Our Shadows Will Remain.
He went on to create his own label Lonely Astronaut
(distributed by Sony) on which he published
a collection of his artwork entitled We Almost Made It, complete with a mostly instrumental accompaniment,
The Invisible Parade, in the spring of 2006.
His second album, Nuclear Daydream, with his label
came later that year followed by a tour with his first
full live band The Lonely Astronauts
with whom he recorded his next two
albums; Let's Just Be and Temporary People.
Listening to these albums we find ourselves
in a universe between Bob Dylan, Neil Young and
John Lennon.
Joseph Arthur is a fascinating artist because
as well as being a great musician he is also
a wonderful painter.
He has just opened the MOMAR
(the Museum of Modern Arthur)
his own gallery in Brooklyn where he exposes
his own pieces which are very much
in keeping with Jean-Michel Basquiat
and Pablo Picasso.
