I am so proud for you and Chris after reading Thompson's review, but I was proud of you before, just upon my own viewing and reading, it's amazing!  You said in March you and CS thought it was much better than your first wonderful book, so did this expert critic who also called the first one near perfect in every way.  Last year Thompson and I agreed on several things, when I believe I had written my long then edited reader review first, or at least before I saw his.  Now the big thing he said, that was my same experience, is that the most compelling part is Apis Bull's lengthy flashback from his birth to the battle against Kalan.  Your words on the "...Born into pain..." page, just stopped my reading for awhile and sent me into pondering, as I could relate to all those words and thought how in real life there are 2 ways to go from a painful, violent start in life.  Thankfully, with God, forgiveness, and love, many of us go a good way and find peace, unlike Apis Bull, but the pain isn't forgotten-- as you had Apis Bull say, "Scars that would never heal."; they don't completely heal for anyone in this world.  Later in the story, you had some poignancy about coming from the same place, both good and evil have something to prove--how true.  It's a deep story and I remain very impresssed with your story-telling brilliance; it comes a lot from knowing, being interested in, and caring about all kinds of people as you do.  Another thing Thompson and I share, upon finishing this 2nd installment, is that we "..wait with bated breath for the final chapter in the brilliant "..Soul Stealer".. saga..."!  I'll probably have to read the next one actually in Chicago or wherever the release is held next year, unless I can get an advance copy out of you by then, or at least some "spoilers" like we get in the soap world!  Congrats on this highly positive review, though I'd expect nothing else for you.
