I am a fan of Buckminster Fuller.
There. I said it. It's public now.
And despite the fact that I was blessed with the body of a surfer ... I'm still a goddamn Dungeons and Dragons playing, computer overclocking, cel phone hacking, radio building, poetry writing geek at my core.
A strange dichotomy I've grown into but I'm not gonna run away from it. At least it's mine.
Anyway ...
I am a fan of Buckminster Fuller.
I enjoy ... no ... relish in fact ... that he built the geodesic dome and tested it in high wind conditions.
I thrill to know that his theory/machine worked. That it stood.
I croon when reading of how his late life depression almost ended his life and then became a winning revelation which would spawn his most valuable contributions to humanity.
He should be martyred.
Anyhow ...
I wrote this song once.
And Bucky is playfully mentioned throughout but he's not really the point of the writing.
More so ... it's about ... er ... hmmm ... certain metaphysical happenings (to use a lame ass, cliche term) which seriously fucked my shit up (in a good way) back in 2002 or so.
Wholly rearranged my entire life.
Set me on an unalterable course.
Blessed me.
Anyway ...
Here's the little ditty I wrote/sung in commemoration of said events (and Bucky!).

The Afterlife(an original g.0.v. joint!)-------------------------------------------------------------
lyrics:
Get on with the afterlife!
Every day, yeah, now every day is fine!
And sure! A circle's bound to be
forever turning back in time.
God loves his universe. It's curved ...
Go on Fuller now! Say it proud!
You could not, I daresay, say to loud!
For when the wind came up?
Your precious dome!
Your precious dome was sound!
Sweet. True. Sound.
Here in the afterlife.
God loves his universes curved.
God loves his universe. It's curved.
God loves his universe, it's ...
Swerving fore and backwards!
It turns to laughter in my brow!
Time is the lathe upon heaven!
This roar! This holy, holy sound...
...becomes my semaphore,
the blessed flagman
on the deck of distant shores.
And sure! A circle's bound!
Forever turning back in time!
God loves his universes curved ...
It's swerving fore and backwards.
It turns to laughter in my brow...
...
As always my fine friends.
Please do rock on.
