It's that time of year where a lot of high school seniors are beginning to take college placement tests at various institutions. So it's understandable that we, at Edgewood College, often get asked about our placement testing policy...well, I've answered that question below...
About Edgewood College Placement Testing:
Edgewood College doesn't offer placement testing quite like a lot of other institutions. We only offer English, Math and Foreign Language placement testing (French & Spanish only for languages). For information about English placement testing please contact the Academic Dean's Office (608-663-2200) for a schedule of test dates. For information about Math placement testing please contact the Student Resource Center (608-663-2281) for a schedule of test dates. The English and Math placement tests are optional. If you choose not to take either of them you will be placed in an appropriate English or Math course based on your ACT scores in those subjects. However, when planning to take Foreign Language at Edgewood College you will be required to take a placement test. The Foreign Language placement test is done online when you register for an Advising & Registration Day in the summer before entering your freshman year. (Advising & Registration Days are not available to sign up for until about April, but they are a time when you would come to campus and work with an Academic Advisor to help you pick out your first semester of freshman classes. You will be notified by mail about Advising & Registration Days around April.)
