2004 Debut Album Available on Itunes!
Nathan Asher and The Infantrys 2004 self titled debut album is now available on Itunes and all other major digital down loading sites
Only 1,000 copies of this album were made and distributed.
This album is unique because it was recorded only 3 weeks after the Infantry got together. Several songs on the album were learned in the studio and recorded in a few takes. You can feel the raw energy and passion in these recordings. The Infantry's sound has changed a lot in the last 4 years, but self-titled release is a kinetic snapshot of our origins. The line up has also changed slightly. On this album Jay Cartwright played organ and Turner Brandon sat in on occasional Harmonica. Jay left the band shortly after this album to pursue his own band "Eyes to Space" and Turner took over the organ full time.
This album includes the original version of "Turn up the Faders", which was recorded during a snowstorm at 3am in the morning just hours after it was learned.
The opening track "The Last Election" was the first song to get the Infantry recognized locally. It caused some controversy because it spoke out against the current president and the war. At the time this was not yet a popular thing to do.
Live favorites at the time were songs like "For Diane" "The Deficit" and "Animal Instincts" which have been posted on our myspace
Site for you to preview.
After receiving many emails asking where this album can be purchased, we decided to send it in to Itunes.
As for the current state of NAI, we are creatively exploding right now and working on new material for the next album as well as playing up and down the east coast on weekends. Expect a new album from us in 2008!
