It has occurred to me that there has not been an update since September of last year!  Geez, we're slacking!
But maybe that's just on the internet front.  See, the VegFest crew has been holding bi-weekly meetings since March, plotting and planning the 2009 VegFest!
So there's not too much to tell as of yet, but better to keep people informed rather than fester in the dark right?
Here's the lowdown thus far, which for those keeping track probably already know.
This years VegFest will be on Saturday, September 5th from 11AM-5PM.
It will once again be taking place in the Thornden Park Ampitheater here in Syracuse (where it was last year).
It's going to follow the same schedule of speaker, music, speaker, music.  We have a bunch of people and performers on our wish list and we'll see just how many come to fruition!
As of now the only musicians we have confirmed are Syracuse-by-way-of-NYC rockers Rejouissance (http://myspace.com/rejouissance) and local social justice folk hero Colleen Kattau (http://www.myspace.com/colleenkattau).  Naturally, we added them to our top friends so you can easily access their great music!  And there will be a few more to be announced as we get things secured.
An addition we're doing this year is renting out the pavillion that is right across from the ampitheater (next to the playground) for a couple additional workshops and possibly a short movie screening so people can get a little 'hands-on' education to go with all the lecturing, eating, jamming, and other fun activities!
And of course there's the food!  Ah, the food!  Expect a greater amount of food vendors this year serving up great vegan dishes and treats for you to check out..  and see what Syracuse (and upstate NY) have to offer!
So yeah...  just wanted to give people the head's up that even in the dorment Winter we were hard at work and are working even harder as the Spring kicks in to make sure that September will bring us an event even better than last years!
