It is with a heavy heart that the Pistols announce to their friends that after ten years of recording and twelve years of performances, the band is calling it a day in 2008. We're still booking a few shows-though not many-and we're going to try and make it long enough to have a "last show" blowout sometime later in the year. Keep an eye on this page or www.twodollarpistols.com for updates on the band's final appearances and what the individual members will be up to in the future. Very special thanks to those of you who have supported us over the years-we couldn't have done it without you. Come see us and say Adios!

Damn, what a terrible way for 2008 to start. My favourite band is calling it quits. This sucks! Ofcourse I'll keep an eye out for your new projects, but you've got some awfully big shoes to fill. Thanks for the music, boys, and good luck!

Thanks for all the great music and fantastic live shows over the past decade! You guys will be greatly missed. Are you still playing the show with Jason Ringenberg on 2/8? Is there a new venue for that show yet now that the Hideaway has closed?

It's always sad news when something so well established becomes no more, but such is life. Music never dies and shall always remain though! Wish you all the best of luck in whatever the future might bring.

Ok this really blows. My husband brought me to one of your shows and I have been a diehard fan ever since....with the CD on constant rotation in my car. We have seen several shows. I was bent out of shape when we couldn't go to the 12/8/07 because we had out of town guests! I have NEVER liked any kind of "county" influenced music before in my life, and I think you guys are just the greatest and could be The Next Big Thing with the right push. :((

Hey John, sorry to hear that you guys are calling it a day, although we all understand the stresses and strains being in a band can place on one's sanity and life in general. We enjoyed the opportunities we had to work with you - it was always a pleasure. Good luck to all of you in the future - if any of you end up in Chattanooga at any time look us up. You will be missed by your friends and fans (us included), Richard, Doug, Andrew, Dan, and John - aka Uncle Lightnin'

Sorry to hear, the good news we have all your CD's and will keep playing them frequently.
Good luck on whatever you do next.

Damn, hate to hear that you guys are calling it quits...just when I thought you were all getting used to my hecklin'! Hope you do one last show here in Charlotte, if not we'll have to have a road trip to Chapel Hill. And by the way excellent listening choice with the M-m-mel Tillis, my favorite.

I thank you so much for the great music which litterally has not left my cd players in over three years. I'm going to miss you very very much but i will remember all the good times I've had over the years at your shows. wow I saw you guys play at the sylvia theatre in york, and the room in charlotte when hardly anybody else was there..... good times, good times. I have been crying about this but I do look forward to see what each of you come up with next.

What a bummer. Sorry to learn that news. The musical landscape loses a great band with your demise. Good luck with future projects. Hope you'll all keep those musical irons in the fire. Kudos on a great career, unkudos on the passing of an alt-country institution.

Dammit! I never got to see you live.
If I had a dollar for evr time I've played You've Grown Tired of Me and then rewound it then rewound it again just to hear the line " I don't need another pal to tie me down. specially not the kind that makes me shake when she's around." i'd be rich but branded as a weirdo! Y'all gave me a lot of happily miserable listens. Thanks for caring about making quality music.
