We are proud to announce not only that our brand new album is finished, but also that it is available for you here on myspace before any other place!
The record is mixed by swedish soundwiz Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, The International Sound Conspiracy, Fireside etc) and features ten songs. We've been working on it for some time now and here's a short summary of the record and the process.
The album is called Revelations, and is our second album. It was recorded on the small and beautiful island of Giske, on the west coast of Norway. The island was actually one of the main viking strongholds back in the day and they used to hijack ships sailing by... The landscape is spectacular in all its majestic simplisty with high mountains, sandy beaches and the ocean roaring outside the cabin door.
The studio, Ocean Sound Recordings, is a small old boathouse packed with great, analouge gear, and swede Herman Söderström took the trip from Stockholm to engineer us safely and cunningly through the process. Check out his band The Early Days. (myspace.com/theearlydayssthlm )
We stayed there for 12 intense days, using every waking hour in the studio. We recorded 12 songs and 9 of them ended up on the cd version of the album. The last three songs will be on the vinyl, which will available here on myspace.com/lukaskasha in very short time. It looks and sounds exellent, so keep watch and treat yourself with this gem when it arrives.
We've never been very conservative according to genres and rules within music, and this record is no exeption. The songs differ in sound, from organic more rockier tunes to uptempo dancy off center pop and electronic club tunes. We're excited about the idea of playing this live, and the releaseparty on friday will be the first real chance!
Also we'd like to hear what you think about the songs, so contact us here, on twitter or on facebook. (links on our myspace fronpage)
During the next couple of days and weeks we'll post photos, videos,
rehearsal recordings and other stuff from the the last months. Also, new t-shirts and other Lukas-merch are on the way.
Hope to see many of you on friday and on other venues during the summer and autumn!
Andreas
