So we arrive about
3 P.M at the DTE and as all of us get out of the car to get in line, it starts pouring Ice cold rain and thundering out. The security can't let us in till 4 and we are like getting soaked. Not to mention, the weather started to drop all the way to 40's degrees and the wind was blowing really hard. Perfect scene for a Metal show! In line so many people were ripping on Metallica and even made fun of the kids who showed up with Metallica shirts. xD Especially the kid who showed up with the St. Anger Shirt.  This was also the very first time I finally sat in pavilion seats and was very thankful I wasn't stuck on the lawn getting more soaked. Felt sorry for the lawn peeps.

The three piece High On Fire jumped on the stage and totally owns! Stoner Sludge Metal probably at it's finest. Very heavy Sabbathy stuff! First time really listening to them and I am for sure a fan now. Such killer riffs, solos, and the drumming pwned. If I had control of my own army, High On Fire's music would be the perfect background for battle. Crowd really dug them.

Next up on stage were Deathcore Kids, from
Phoenix, Arizona, Job For A Cowboy. Second time seeing them. First time I saw them was on Sound of The Underground (Believe it or not I even had lunch with them that day), So the stage show was easily predictable and a little boring, not to into them really in the first place. But the other people still went crazy over them. And it wasn't just the scene kids either. They were moshing and ripping up some of the lawn during the set. A lot during the set, JFAC kept shouting out to raise our " Fuckin  Metal Horns". One thing for sure, they have worked on the solos and made them actually sound decent to me anyways. Still a lot of the Pig squeals in the set tho lol.

I noticed the person sitting in front of me walked down pretty close to the front and took some pictures during JFAC. So I asked him about it and he replied "just follow
....me.....", and sat in some empty seats.

I ended up getting to watch Children Of Bodom 6 seats away from the front row! I wasn't really supposed to be seating in the seats that close, but the security didn't mind and whoever had those seats didn't show up at all during Bodom's set, so I had a perfect view the whole time. I know Un- Bodom fans call them overrated and people hate on them, but It was still so Epic! I never noticed how scrawny and short Alexi Laiho was. Wasn't much taller than me. He kept licking his guitar after he finished a solo.  Very odd, but his shredding skills still owned! Laiho, also kept making sure the crowd was loud enough. The keyboardist even joked around for a little bit and busted out some Whitesnake lol. Tons of Bodom fans were around going crazy and windmilling the hair. The lawn was filled with a giant circle pit and lasted the entire set. Watching Alexi Laiho shred up so close, was freaking amazing! You will just have to witness it yourself.  while we were up that close! Sadly I had to go back to my regular seat, which was far in the back lol. "The weather fucking sucks fucking dick" - Alexi

But the best was still ahead!

Bodoms Setlist I think went like this

Six Pounder
Living Dead Beat
In Your Face
Hate Me!
Hellhounds On My Trail
Angels Don't Kill
Blooddrunk
Downfall

Quite a few people left after Bodom ended. Well it was there loss, because Gothenburg Melodic-Death Metal band, In Flames tore it up! Second time seeing In Flames. The first time was seeing them open up Ozzfest 2005. The crowd reaction was great and everyone was singing and clapping a long. Especially during, "The
....Quiet Place...." and "Come Clarity". Such amazing energy from Anders! Constantly headbanging and jumping up and down, through the entire set and interacting with the audience. Best quotes from Anders that night were," I don't know how you guys are standing still wearing t-shirts, I'm from Sweden and I'm still freezing" - Anders
"If you've got a problem with these guys moshing, you shouldn't be in the front row man" - Anders
They closed off the set with "My Sweet Shadow" and told us they will be around in November!

It took forever for Speed Metal legends Megadeth to get set up, but finally they opened up with the new track "Sleep Walker"! Dave mentioned it himself that there wasn't going to be much talking, because of the curfew and wanted to get through as many songs as he could. Dave was a little off key with the vocals with the newer tracks, but I think that was because he is still trying to learn them lol But he did an amazing job on the classic tracks and his guitar skills make up for whatever vocals he messed up on. Just so much crazy guitar shredding! I can't even describe in words, how talented Mustaine is, especially finally being able to see it in real life. In the background they had the "Rust In Peace" cover, "United Abominations cover", Burning Flames, and shots of the sky. and then just a huge black curtain with a giant Megadeth logo.

The Crowd reaction for "A Tout Le Monde", "Symphony Of Destruction", and "Peace Sells", was rad!

The tracks I remember are "Sleep Walker". "Take No Prisoners", "Trust, "Kick The Chair" "Gears Of War". "
Washington Is Next," "In My Darkest Hour". "Skin O My teeth" "Hangar 18", "Burnt Ice", "A Tout Le Monde", "Tornado Of Souls," "Ashes In Your Mouth" "Wake The Dead", "Symphony Of Destruction", " Peace Sells", and what seemed like the very end of the set Dave greatly appreciated everyone for coming out to the show and introduced the current line up of everyone in Megadeth and then for an encore "Holy Wars... Punishment Due with Mechanix"! Dave did end up going over the curfew *Insert Metal Horns*.

It's good to know Dave Mustaine can still own! :)

We all froze our asses off, but it was worth it!

First of all a big Thanks to Ken for everything! First time meeting Ken that day and we go see All That Remains. I didn't think the concert was going to go through and then I got a message from Ken and next thing I knew we were in Detroit. Cool stuff! So after getting everything together Ken, Wes, and I left finally about 5 P.M. and thought we were going to be late. Ken drove like 90 all the way and we ended up getting to Detroit a little bit after 7, parked and walked to the Majestic Theater. First time being at the Majestic and it was the first concert I been to where you can pay at the door and don't have to have a ticket.

First act to play was a Hardcore band called "For The Fallen Dreams". They were awful and it brought on all the lame hardcore dancing. They tried to get people to get into them by saying stuff like "Jump up and down like you were at a Slipknot concert", but it didn't really work lmao. Not too many people were into them. At first a pit broke out and then for some reason it stopped. Scene kids started Hardcore dancing and two-stepping. I don't mind the two-stepping, but when they start swinging there arms around and hitting people that's when you draw the line! One guy wearing a Lamb Of God shirt had enough, jumped up and picked a skinny scene kid up, slamming him to the floor and then started mocking them by making humping motions.

Divine Heresy was next. There signed to Century Media Records. I don't mind them. They bring nothing new to the Metalcore scene, but they were entertaining to watch. Wes and I were pretty close to the front and were practically being smothered from everyone pushing from the back. The crowd surfers were being thrown like rag dolls. The vocalist was picking them up, launching them back into the crowd after reaching the stage. I had so many people landing on me. One of them happens to be a hot chick with Nothingface tattooed on her back. My back and neck is so sore right now lol. The Vocalist then decided to jump in and crowd surf himself. During the set a fight broke out. Some kid just started hitting on another kid. The Vocalist started breaking up the fight, but the kid continued to hit. Eventually security jumped in and the vocalist started calling the Kid a Punk Douche bag and told the kid "hard earned dollars were paid to watch a Rock show and he was ruining it for everyone". Talk about a burn to the face. Towards the end of the set The Wall of Death broke out. People were falling on the floor, for the floor was covered in spilled beer.

Wes and I were really tired after Divine Heresy. We lost track of Ken for a little bit and watched Chimaira in the back from the stairs. Chimaira were boring this time around. They kept getting feedback through the guitars. Mark Hunter didn't show much enthusiasm with everyone and was real weak on the vocals. The only thing I can think of is he must of been really tired. The Lights were pretty cool and The drummer still kicked ass, but that is pretty much it. They ended the set again with "Pure Hatred".

Finally got to see All That Remains Headline on there own tour! For some reason right before they came on they were blaring Rap group N.W.A. The song "Straight Outta Compton."Opening with "The Air That I Breathe". Wes and I started out in the right corner by the speaker and then were pushed pretty close to the front. Phil was very energetic jumping around on stage and making sure everyone was singing a long.

At one point he laid down right in front of us and people formed a small circle and he put his hand inside the circle so we could all sing into the mic. During "Becoming The Catalyist" some Kid stole Phil's hat and almost pulled Phil off the stage. Phil had to stop singing the chorus and the lead guitarist took over the vocals. It ended with Phil punching the kid in the face and getting his hat back.

After the song he apologized to the kid and said something of the lines that he couldn't just say in the middle of the song "Dude can I have my hat back?" Everyone went Nuts when "Six" started. The people who had a lighter held it up during the solo. Phil dedicated 'Tattered On My Sleeve" to all the girls. I guess he does this for every show.

Before they played "Follow" from "Behind Silence and Solitude" Phil gave a little history behind the song. He talked about the days when he was vocalist for Shadows Fall and started writing his own music while learning to play Guitar. Eventually Shadows Fall kicked him out and "Follow" was the first song he wrote for All That Remains. Phil then took a shot break on stage with Tim Yeung. Tim said something about thinking he had on Phil's pants. Phi replied back "Everyone wears my pants so it's ok".

"This Calling" was supposed to be the last song, but then Phil came back out and started shouting "YEAH". He went to the right side and had everyone yell it back, then ran to left and did the same thing and then the middle. Seeing who could say it louder. Then he had everyone yell it all at once. It wasn't loud enough for him, so he had us yell it once more for an Encore. The Encore was "The Weak Willed" Everyone held up the Metal Horns and the whole floor erupted into a Giant Circle Pit.

On the way back we somehow ended up in West Branch and Got home around 6 in the morning back tracking. Mind you the show ended around 11ish. LMAO Its ok Ken. It was worth it ALL THAT REMAINS OWNED! The Weather was pretty bad on the way home.
Setlist
Every Song from "The Fall Of Ideals" except for "Whispers"
This Darkened Heart: This Darkened Heart and Tattered On My Sleeve
"Follow" From "Behind Silence and Solitude".

Still smell like faygo after showering Twice! John Groh, Derek Lorenz, Justin Phenix, My Brother, and I went to
....Detroit.... at The Filmore, to See Insane Clown Posse on Halloween!! The Car ride alone was worth going, us being obnoxious and laughing our asses off. I seriously choked on my sandwich from laughing lmao. John was kind enough, drove us, and paid for all our meals! That was pretty fucking cool (Next concert I owe Ya John!) We got there 10 Min before Five, and walked around ....Detroit.... looking for a bathroom, for over 30 min, and every place had there bathroom closed down. Had to wait to get inside the concert, to Urinate!....
The Line: Homeless asking for change like usual, People handing out demo cd's, 90% in Clown paint, Juggalos's spraying Faygo everywhere and on anything, yelling whoo-whoo, chants, songs, and hugging. I even saw a person decked out in a Ninja Outfit, that he made himself with ....Sais.... (You know those things the Red Ninja Turtle uses, Yeah I know I'm a nerd and know that shit.) He was like 20. Some people went a little to far with Orange Faygo and starting attacking a Police Car with the Faygo, eventually it led to a person getting put onto the hood of the car, getting arrested by a female officer. People started shouting "LET HIM GO" over and over. Eventually he was let go, and finally we were all inside the Venue!

Motown Rage: A local,
Detroit band. Think Hed P.E. with major Guitar solos. They were alright, but one thing for sure there guitarist can shred. The guitarist grabbed a real drill, and said, "This is a drill, this is my guitar, and this is a beat." Drilled on the guitar strings and He started beat boxing to it, and towards the end, added a solo. Pretty interesting to watch, with small pits in the front. 20 min set.

Boondox AKA The Scarecrow: 100 percent what I expected, to kick ass!!! Horror movie violent lyrics, with a southern blend, since he is from the South. Opening with Punkinhed! Justin, Caleb, and I headed down to the main floor, and of course were pushed right in a pit. The pit was during a Drinking Song, of all songs, "Sippin On Down" Ending with "Seven! Crowd went crazy for him. Close to an hour set.

Necro: Yep watched him again. Surprisingly did a good job. This time he wasn't an asshole, and didn't have his hypeman attacking kids, for not liking him. Of course majority liked him, since it was a different type of show and not a Metal/Hardcore show like Sounds Of The Undergroud (Gwar headlining). I do give him Kudos' for using real instruments, and working with members of Hatebreed, Obituary, Lamb Of God, Suffocation, and even Megadeth. Hour set.

INSANE CLOWN POSSE: Literally kicked my ass. The Stage: Carved Pumpkins, Haunted House in the back, Monsters and Clowns running around, while Violent J, and Shaggy Rapped. Opening with "Dead Pumpkins". It was packed on the floor. The pits were moving! People were, pushing us from the back, causing us to push the other's in the front, causing people all the way up front, to fall over the barricade. Someone finally shouted, If the barricade goes down ICP will stop playing finally it stopped.! lost my right shoe a few times, and lost all my stuff that was in my hoodie pocket. Tons of variety of Faygo flying everywhere hitting and spraying people, soaking them. During Chicken Hunting everyone went fucking nuts. We lost my brother and didn't find him till the end of the set. lmao. He decided to go crowd surfing and went missing. He was fine, he was in the pits, drenched with faygo and got to High five Violent J.....
During the faygo song, they had a bucket filled with Faygo, Justin and I were hit did on with it, and were soaked! Justin went ecstatic, when they played Halls Of Illusions and even knocked me down, from jumping lmao! They performed a shit load of songs. Tracks from The Ring Master, Riddle Box, Great Milenko, The Amazing Jekyl Brothers, BizzareBizzaar, Wraith, Hells Pit, and The Tempest. And even Christmas and Hallowicked tracks. Towards the end Balloons fell from the sealing and everyone starting popping them. They ended with Pass Me By, and went insane with the Faygo. John was hit in the head a few times, looking for my brother. The whole entire set was amazing and of course we all had a blast! Close to two hour set! Sadly we missed the after party with Wrestling Matches, Jamie Madrox Of Twiztid, and Project Born Performing. Though, we were all wore out, and wanted to get some food and go home. ICP can put on a hell of a show! 7th concert and Counting!....
Tracks I remember/Knew in No Order
Dead Pumpkins
Dead Body Man
Chicken Hunting
The Neden Game
Crooked Preacher Killer
Halls Of Illusions
Santa Clause Is A Fat Bitch
Wicked Halloween
Play With Me (Toy getting mad at its owner for not playing with him, and decides to kill)
Rainbows and Stuff
Tilt-A-Whirl
My Ax
..Southwest Voodo..
Lets Go All The Way
Fuck The World
Down With The Clown
Murder Go Round
The Tower
Boogiewoogie Woo
Pass Me By
and few more that I can't remember

A giant big thanks to Aaron and Jessica for the food and Hotel, Josh for surviving  the ticket lag online and food, and Justin, John, and fred for keeping me safe in the pit!

We drove down there late, stayed at a motel, woke up late, I sadly missed the ozzfest forum banner pic, and Nile. :(

Either way still was a blast!!!
Second Stage: Big Dave announcing the bands, chicks taking off there tops and having a four way make out session with other girls, insane pits, constantly moving and having people slam into you, see all the bands right up front, no seats, very hot parking lot, and it's the most fun part of the day.
We caught the ending of Ankla. They seemed to be decent.

Chthonic was amazing live and are now my all time favorite Black Metal band! Think Cradle Of Filth or Emperor. They hail from
....Taiwan..... Blast beats; kick ass guitar solos, eerie keyboarding, and one of the members playing a violin type instrument, creating a horror movie type sound. Love the corpse paint they wear. They seem to hate the government. Had us chanting Fuck the politics and was waving around there national flag.
Not to much energy going on for them.

When Devildriver came on stage everyone went fucking nuts. Not originally part of the line up. They were recently added, because another band dropped off. Des had everyone make a 25 foot circle pit and made everyone move to make it. Started out slow then began gaining lots of speed. I lost my shoe a couple times. lol During this I saw a huge black dude, kick a white guy's ass and a few people fell over during the pit. Very full of energy!

Behemoth tore it up and the level of danger increased. A Death Metal band from
Poland! Insane Guitar solo's, blast beats, and all have corpse paint. A massive pit broke out and I was fell down and was stepped upon on my neck. I was then being choked, but it turned out it was my friend Justin helping me get up the only we he could, a choke hold. Thanks for saving my ass dude! Behemoth spit blood on the audience before ending.and Inferno did a sweet drum solo.

Big Dave bet Jamey Jasta of hatebreed he could get a wall of chicks, to flash. Dave lost the bet, for only a few particpaited. 2nd time seeing Hatebreed. As soon as hatebreed came on, a hardcore dancer started swinging his fists about, and was immediately knocked over by four people. The pits were of course moving! Jamey Brought 3 little kids up on the stage. Which, was pretty cool I thought.
They played a lot of older material, and a few new songs. Everyone shouted with Hatebreed. Jamey thanked everyone for supporting the underground hardcore/Metal scene and even gave a big shout out thanks to Ozzy! We left before the set was over, for we were tired, hungry, dehydrated, and burned from the sun. ....
After getting food, and everything we headed up to the main stage. During the Mainstage this creepy goth chick kept staring at Josh and I. I would of said said Hi, but she put her hood over her face and sat down, and had an angry look on her face. She wasn't bad looking at all, just was kinda creepy. lol

The opening band was Black Tide, a local band from
....Florida..... They were between the ages 14-19 and were pulling off Solo's like Slayer and Metallica. They even covered Metallica's hit the lights. There original songs need some work on the lyrics, but the rest is perfect. ....
Lordi, from Finland were ok. Think Gwar mixed with Judas Priest/Motley Crue. There costumes are pretty sweet looking and there stage show with flames, and fire works were pretty cool to watch, but I just wasn't feeling the music from them. I love classic Metal, but there style just didn't work for me.
The Industrial Electronic Disco nu-metal kings, Static-X were next. Opening with "Cannibal". (if I remember right.) And I think ended with Push it. Wayne did the entire songs perfect and they played a variety of new and old. For some odd reason during the song cold, (of all songs) people were ripping up the lawn and throwing sod all over the place. I'm not talking small pieces either like Giant pieces, and hitting people in the back of the head, spilling drinks, knocking over food, and even causing injuries from the rocks. ....Wayne.... had to yell out to tell people to stop, because security was going to close down the show.

It started on the far right and just moved on down to us on the far left. Even we were getting hit. Eventually it started to slow down, but it kept going all the way till Lamb Of god came on. Big dave Even came out and told everyone to knock it the fuck off and that the only thing we should be doing with grass is smoking it.

Lamb of God came on and played one hell of a show. People even had there lighters out. I can't remember what the hell they open with, but I am 100 percent certain they ended with Black Label. A very good setlist. Going from songs like 11th hour, Omerta, Now You've Got Something To Die For, Again we rise, Blacken The Cursed Sun, you get the point. It was a damn good Variety. Lamb Of God thanked the entire road crew and gave a big shout to Ozzy, without him there would be No Ozzfest and a lot of the Metal bands wouldn't exist today.....

The crowd participation, for The hell no part of Blacken The Cursed Sun was wicked!. During the song Redneck, My friend Josh and I decided to jump into the giant pit on the far right. We were moshing for a bit, and then this huge buff dude plowed Josh over onto his face, and he slid about a couple feet. It was funny, but I felt bad for him. ....
The guy then charged towards me hitting me in the chest, I somehow managed to keep my grip on the ground. Josh got up and I was like you ready to start again, and he was like no and brushed the dirt off his shirt, and we headed back to our spot and watched Lamb Of God finish off the set with Black Label. Ozzy Osbourne was Next!
....

First time seeing Ozzy solo! I saw him with Sabbath in 05 and he didn't play
Detroit in 06, so I was pretty excited!
Before he came on stage, they showed a couple skits of Ozzy. One with Ozzy being tied in a chair, and two people debating on how Ozzy got there in the first place. They went to go untie him and He bit them. Another one was Ozzy eating out an old lady and coughing up bird feathers. It was pretty fucked up lol. The funniest one was Ozzy dancing with this lady and he accidentally ripped her leg off lmao!

Opening up with Bark at the Moon and finishing with Paranoid. He started out singing kinda crappy, but improved pretty quick on the second song Mr. Crowley. A lot of the time everyone waved there lighters around. Ozzy was spraying everyone in the front with a squirt gun type thing and kept bowing down, showing appreciation for us being there. Zakk Wylde played like a 10-15 min guitar solo, which including the American Anthem. On the screens, they put a picture of the flag waving behind him, while he was playing. Every time Ozzy was going to end the show everyone kept shouting out "ONE MORE SONG ONE MORE SONG" He played four more songs, which included Crazy Train, and eventually ending with Paranoid. He told everyone to drive safe home and not to get in trouble with the cops. He then told everyone cya next year!....
3rd year in a row and Counting! Can't wait till next year! Won't be a poor bastard next time lol.

Probably the most random planned concert ever. Seriously, David and I were hanging out with Jarred and I was watched them jam for awhile. All of a sudden, Steve and Tyler pulled in the drive way and we decided to go see Gwar. Woke up the next morning at
7 a.m. and finally left to Detroit around 8 .

We arrived around
11 a.m. and David's brother (Who was working on sound board for the tour) negotiated with a giant security guy, who hooked us all up with VIP passes. His exact words were "If you get into any trouble I will kick your asses and I will shove my foot up your ass so far, you won't be able to shit again". The giant was just joking around, but it was still intimidating lmao. Well we had some time to kill after that and went to some burger restaurant to get some food. Believe or not, sitting right next to us was Job For A Cowboy. I was to nervous to say anything to them and kept eating my burger.

Hardcore band "This Is Hell", jumps on stage and gave everything they had. They were a pretty cool band and just doing what they like to do. The vocalist gave a big thanks to everyone for showing up before closing out the set

Goatwhore destroyed the stage, with there satanic heaviness. It was intense! The old school Metal heads who showed up with the Morbid Angel t-shirts were wind milling there hair the entire time. Some kid decided it would be cool to hardcore dance near a guy wearing a "Gore not core shirt", and got the crap kicked out of him. It happened at least 10 feet away from us and blood was all over the floor. Goatwhore dedicated a song to "The Black Dahlia Murder", and gave a shout out for us supporting independent music. They also gave a shout out for This Is Hell. It was kinda funny, you could tell
....Tyler.... really didn't want to watch Goatwhore, for the lyrics and music were to brutal for him lol. After Goatwhore, David, Steve, and I got in line to meet the band and get sigs. Vocalist Ben Falgoust was really cool. He brought his hand out to take shake my hand before I did and handed me a flyer to see them with Cannibal Corpse.

The Acacia Strain were alright. Though, it was funny watching them make fun of the hardcore kids for not two-stepping correctly lol.....
The Devil Wears Prada is a band that I don't really like (Not for there beliefs, but the genre), but they still had a bunch of energy, jumping around, doing flips and kicking off the speakers. The keyboardist looked like his neck was going to snap, the way he was whipping his head around lol. ....Tyler.... was really into them. Before they closed out the set they told us that "Jesus loves us and to find him".....

Nothing really to say about  for Number 12 Looks Like You or Heavy Heavy Low Low.

The dethcore kids Job For A Cowboy were pretty impressive. The crowd reacton was insane and the entire floor was in a pit! Watching the pit from the very top seats was such an amazing view. It was rad!

The Vikings Amon Amarth dominated the stage. If they asked
Detroit to come and pillage and plague, I'm sure everyone would have followed. Every member is like 10 feet tall and crazy buff. The entire floor was wind milling with them. Idk, for some reason it's entertaining to watch this band twirl their hair around lol. (Look up a video to know what I mean) The entire crowd loved them!

The band was behind schedule and were not supposed to play, because the tour bus broke down. The late Darkest Hour still ended up playing, but the setlist was sadly cut short. Henry was awesome on the vocals and tore it up! He's looked so nerdy, but so brutal at the same time. The floor was of course was back into a giant pit and I watched a few people fall down and get trampled. AMAZING!

Necro was alright at first, but then he went too far. He calls his genre Death Rap and was put on the tour, because he has did tracks with real Metal bands. His hypeman was attacking kids for flipping him off and throwing food/drinks at the stage. Necro tried getting people to start a pit, but everyone refused. Necro then decided to spit on the crowd. The hypeman did end up connecting his fist to someone. People tried getting on stage to attack Necro, but the security kept pushing back. Things started getting out of hand and eventually, David's brother, Brian cut off the power to the stage right in the middle of the set, forcing Necro and his hypeman to leave the stage. I respect Necro, because he can flow and has awesome knowledge on Metal. It's just the way he presented himself that ruined his performance. Maybe, next time

So after the horrible Necro performance came SHADOWS FALL. Second time seeing the band and of course, put on again, one hell of a show. They played a lot of new stuff of course to support the new redemption record. But they also went into older Material. Lots of strobe lights going on. I swear, I thought I was going to go blind. I think Brian's dreads have gotten longer. They were dragging all over the floor. Brian made fun of emo music and said that they need to move on from there Girl friends. Pretty good Moshing going on and of course everyone sung/screamed a long.

Every Time I Die fucking rocks live and are very fun to watch. Behind them was a huge painting of a giant Middle finger with ETID written across. They played a very good set. From Hot Damn!, Gutter Phenomenon, older material I have never heard, and a good amount of new songs from The Big Dirty. (Coming out in September.) Every Time I Die, brought a guy onstage to chug a beer while they played. Everyone chanted, CHUG! CHUG! CHUG! The kid was underage of course, and stopped a couple times. And to make it up he smashed the can with his forehead. He then shook hands with Keith and was brought back onto the floor. Lots of moshing and lame hardcore dancing!

Chimaira really surprised me. They open up the set with Nothing Remains. Lots of strobe lights again. The entire floor again, was a huge pit. In between each song, a different bass player came in. Chimaira's bass player couldn't attend the show, cause of a passing, of a family member. So Every Time I Die, Shadows Fall, and Gwar bass players filled in. Chimaira's drummer birthday was the same day of the show. ....
Two pretty hot chicks came out with a birthday cake for him and everyone sang happy birthday. Chimaira ended the set by asking the crowd if anyone could play the bass part to "Pure Hatred". A girl said she could do it, but Mark told her bullshit. Finally a male from the crowd, shouted, he could sing the song and was brought onstage to perform it. He did a pretty damn good job. Hit every line, didn't even fuck up once. I thought that was pretty fucking cool of Chimaira. More proof that underground bands care more for the fans than what the mainstream do. Much Respect!

Finally what everyone was waiting for. THE MIGHTY GWAR! Got to watch pretty close to the front! Gwar's little minions were running around stage spraying people and killing random people and creature's including, the virgina tech guy(He was shooting off his gun and made a new record 36 kills), Juicifer (A Jewish Satan), brought Gor-Gor on stage, fed a zombie looking dude crack, then killed him, a guy on a coffin, making fun of Gwar, etc. Oderus and one of the minions on stage, necrophilia his homo-sexual dead dog, and ripped it apart. Oderus exact lines were, "Oh no my dog is a homo-sexual I think something's going to happen." A girl was crowd surfing, amd right when she made it to the front; Oderus soaked her down, right in the face, with his cuddle fish (Fake penis with teeth)! Gor-Gor came out and Oderus had a hell of time fighting him. Finally he shoved his sword through the roof of the Dinosaurs mouth, with blood spraying everywhere. The set closed out with a cheap cover version of Iron Maiden Run to the Hills. Everyone on the floor covered in Gwar Goo!
It's been over 20 years of Gwar and people still enjoy being sprayed by our juices- Oderus

I had been looking for a Asian band to get into for awhile.  And I turned on Headbangers ball and saw the video for "Saku", and immediately got sucked into there music.  If your to closed minded about English vocals, just listen to Dir En Grey's track "Marmalade Chainsaw".  This band set the stage for me to get into the music of Taiwan's Chthoni and Japan's Sigh

(Set list on the bottom person from MySpace sent them to me.) First of all thanks to Nick for inviting me, Des for picking me up, and there dad for letting me stay, Rose for the driving and her friend getting the poster Signed. Yeah I got to Catch Japan's Dir En Grey at Saint Andrews Hall in Detroit along with Fair To Midland! Second time going to the Venue. (First time saw my friends Jarred Band Any Direction play along with 30 other bands) I went with my friend Nick, his sister Rose, and her friends, who were pretty cool people. We were late from a wrong turn. The line was very long when we got there and we practically froze to death lol. A lot of people drew hearts with Kyo's name around it and for some reason the site www.downwithedetroit.com was something that was written all over Saint Andrews Hall lol.

So we finally get in. When patted down they ask Nick if his mp3 player was an explosive or if it could record video lmao. They also took Rose's car key chain away. So Fair To Midland was setting up. (Missed the opening band Bleed The Dream from waiting in line) They reminded me of 30 seconds to Mars with a hint of Screamo. The vocalist jumped around and swung his fists like he was having a seizure or something. He also had a patch of hair missing and on the bald spot was a tattoo symbol. During changes to different songs they had clips playing of trippy echoing voices to bidders bidding on something. Overall I didn't like them that much, but some of the crowd seem to. I am sure they will grow on me in the future.  Finally Fair To Midland set was over. Dir En Grey was next! A huge Drum Set was placed on Stage and then a long came all the Members of Dir En Grey and everyone cheered!

The crowd participation was amazing. Everyone was clapping and jumping around.  I Couldn't really sing a long since the music is in Japanese. There were moshing and crowd surfing going on in the front, but I was in the back, besides the place was overcrowded and to small to begin with, so I probably wouldn't of even bother to join. On stage the band had a screen behind them with clips of random things from a person having open surgery, a cartoon of a man crapping on a persons face, people bleeding from the mouth, the video for the song Saku, (Kid killing his parents and killing himself at the end), clips of other performances, to Pearl Harbor.  It was like watching something from "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas". Very crazy stuff. I saw at least 4 people get carried away from I'm guessing either drug overdose, moshing, or heat exhaustion.....
The Vocalist Kyo is one crazy mofo! On Stage he was hitting himself in the face and fish hooking his mouth, causing him to bleed all over. He also grabbed bottled water dumped on himself to cool off then out of nowhere grabbed a giant bucket of water,  with the words rape me on it, and put it over his head and hit it with his fist. (The bucket still on him.) Yes very crazy/Odd, but awesome to watch at the same time. You can tell by the screaming/growls and sadness of his voice the music is very emotional. The band walked off stage for a bit and everyone started stomping there feet and chanting Dir En Grey for a good 10 min. They came back out and played 4 more songs. The final song they played was in English and ended with a blood curdling breakdown of him screaming Fuck You! Over all Dir En Grey is very energetic, fun and put 110% in the show and music. First show I been to that's not a Music Festival and could very well be the best. Very insane, loud and Fun indeed!!! Souvenirs: Copy of Dir En Grey's Withering to Death, Signed Poster from the Bassist Toshiya and my Ticket stub. One more thing... a lot of people were very rude when walking through and just bumped into us without asking us to move at all. Only one person told me Excuse me.  I also saw a person with Pokémon tattooed all over his head.
