Hello all,
since i'm so far away from most of you, i'll be *trying* to keep up with myspace, as it seems like the best way of doing such a thing in this day and age. Blogs, bulletins, whatever.

So my marvelous house on grove street was coming to it's natural end, and i was very uninspired ith my options for a new living situation in SF. Either i get a grotty little studio somewhere (only affordably in the tenderloin), or try to get a new house, sign a lease, deal with credit and deposits, and neighbours and most importantly, having to be the "boss" of  new place, with all the headache which accompanies that. Or finding a new place with new people. i just didn't like the options, and wasn't ready to do that, wasn't ready to commit to that length of time, wasn't ready to bed down right away again.
The other option? well, i could always take the fuck off back to england, stay with my parents, spend chritmas there, hang out with my sister, help my parents get ready to move, catch up with old english friends, and get a massive break from the SF lifestyle.

well, i've been back in england for about  week and a half, and my return ticket flys me back in 3 months from now.

so far, i haven't helped my dad with the house as much as i feel i should have, but my sister did get me a few shifts a week at the bar/restaurnt/club that he works at in the big town near us (bradford). I haven't cycled as much as i'd like, but there is definite hope for that, being that the ride to the next town has a pretty big hill on it, and it's maybe 6 miles away. so i've vowed to ride every day i work to the nex town and back again. it's bar work, so i start late and finish later. drinking rules here are unusual, not sure exatly what they are, but it' pretty much 24 hours...so it's up to the bar....my first shift STARTS at 10pm and ends whenever they feel like closing the doors, from what i can gather...wish me luck!

Tara seems well, though i can't exactly tell you why, or how...i mean, she is happy, has a boyfriend she likes a lot, and scads of (quite beautiful) friends, though doesn't seem to have any diretion, or many plans for the future that are in the works. She's young. Though the stagnant northern england way of life is very typical for these parts. it' a shame from (relativly) motivated american eyes. all these people, smart people, with potential, just living one day to the next, one week to the next, without changing, or having achieved much more than a pay packet, food in their stomaches a few laughs had. It' cultural. and a damn shame. i can work on her, but the rest of the country is on it's own...

more later.
