Hello folks!
I know loads of people have been waiting to hear what we have been up to in the studio so Ive put up some demos of the new tracks we have been recording. Ive also put on one live track from the gig we did at The Mill and the video to go along with it! Unfortunatley Ive taken down all the old videos so the page doesn't get too cluttered, these can still be viewed on YouTube by typing in The Gillyflowers.
As we put up more new tracks I'm going to start taking down the first recordings we did. I have re-mixed them myself and have had them burned on to a lovely Ltd Edition CD which we are now selling at gigs - make sure you get along to one soon though as we've only had 500 made. They include drawings I did of the band and if you want we'll even sign them for you. he he.
New Milestone - Last week we finally played a few gigs it outside of Scotland! We hired a big fancy motor home and set of to Liverpool, well The Wirral to be exact! We played a gig in St Davids church where the local line dancing troup, The Stetson Stompers, had made up a whole routine to No Dancin' ... it was ace! We've got it all on film too so i'll be posting that video very soon. We then went on to Limetree Festival in North Yorkshire. It was a beautiful site and all the staff were awesome! My brothers band A.H.A.B. played on the Saturday. It was brilliant! It was the first time I had seen him with a full band line up, four part harmonies and all! They did one song 'Fathers Eyes' which must be new and they were like Crosbie, Stills, Nash and Young! I'm not being bias because he's my brother, I'm usually the opposite, but they really were great!
We played on Sunday afternoon on the Jason Rae stage to a lovely audience and had the Urban Gypsys from Britains Got Talent dancing the whole set! They were filming it all too so we should hopefully be able to get some footage to show you guys. A great weekend was had by all and I'm sure, if you ask anyone who was there, they will tell you its a fantastic festival and to make sure and get yourself along next year!
To finish off, we'll be back in the studio come end of August to finish the album. No date on a release yet but i'll be sure the news breaks on here first so you lot can be first to order :)
Hope you are all enjoying the demos and hope to see you at one of our gigs coming up!
Power out!
