Ah! Dear friends,

I'm so pumped about our new tunes...
and sharing them
with you all!

Goodness what a weird assortment of songs! LOL!

Can't believe they all came out of us...
but they did...all sans hallucinogenics!

We're just being us...in all of our US-ness. :)

I'm sure there may be a few bad things
written about our efforts
but those who enjoy good music
as much as we do will enjoy
the diverseness and uniqueness
of what we've attempted.

It's a lot of relaxed fun, musically, I think.

(Um. Especially since some tracks
were recorded in my kitchen...
and in my living room. ;D)

Speaking of "snarkiness"
(neurotically self-implied ;),
I think one of my favorite songs on our
soon to be released disc is
the song "9,000 Year Old Man".

It's written about the fact that
we know stuff about Paleolithic men like
what they prob wore back then...
what they ate, where they lived...
but
what we don't know
is what their
personalities were possibly like...
um, if they had anything similar to one, anyways.

So...
I wrote a song about what I thought
that they were like...
and looking back at them through modern eyes...
they probably weren't what we'd call..."nice"...
most likely, they were classic "jerks",
you know...sexists, unclean,
selfish, rude,
philanderers, etc. Ah! You know. LOL!

Of course we know that to survive they kinda
had to be some of the things
that we now socially disdain behaviorally...
since we're all now so ickily PC. Ewww.

I improv-ed the melody & then I did multiple
tracks of my attempts.

Then...I went out on a limb and made it
sound like it was
being sung by a boys choir...
with church level reverb!

Something "pure and spiritual" sounding
just for senseless contrast.

Found out that the different
tracks all fit together perfectly! :)
It actually sounds kinda cool!
Hope you'll like it as I do.

Anyways...I also wrote songs about
moving the clouds
with one's thoughts,
changing your identity
by faking your own death,
going safari hunting
in your living room,
a classic novel/film character
being found trying to cross the Alps,
silly grocery store over-head music phobias,
etc...ETC...

Yes...we've also recorded some
"normal songs"
& have them on this release as well.

Some of them are pretty poppy & pretty rockin'!

Certain songs have Alan wrenches, tornado sirens,
dried beans in a jar, (etc) as instruments like tubas,
accordions, a lone kazoo, Asian instruments,
violin, cello, bits of our versions of opera & disco
thrown into them as well.

So...since this release
may weird our fans/friends
out a bit...
we are gonna probably follow this one
with a disc of
yummy grrr "night music"...
but hopefully it'll be about some different things
other than just the "normal" stuff associated
with "songs for the night time".

I'm so bored with "normal".
Ugh!
So over-done!

Anyways...
just had to share why making this one
was so much fun for me...
and why we love it so.

I love using my imagination
and pushing myself creatively.

Hopefully we'll get enough positive feedback
that we can do another more like this one...
'cause I have oodles more weirdness
lyrically/arrangement-wise
in me
where this CD's worth came from!

Be afraid! :)
Boo!

Hugs,
