Well if todays paper is anything to go by I must of.   if you aren't able to get the paper take a look here http://www.whitehaven-news.co.uk/news/1.245463

The original articles that sparked my hunt for Barney are still on the whitehaven news website, so I obviously didn't dream those.

I met Mr Thompson at the Harbour and we stood only a few yards from the gander that is still there while he showed me photo's of another gander and told me the pictures were of Barney - Did I dream this,  if I did the other person with me had the same dream.

Knoxwood had enlisted the help of The RSPCA to collect the gander from the harbour, to check out it's sore leg,  they were unable to get hold of him and bring him in,  they have not mentioned to Knoxwood that he appears to have a pin in his leg, in fact they have given Knoxwood the impression that they did not get that close to him. the gentlemen from the RSPCA are taking animals to Knoxwood almost daily.  Perhaps I'm not the only one dreaming, perhaps George is to.

I am quite happy to accept that the Harbour Commission may have made a mistake when they originally said they had removed Barney,  But why try and change their story now, when their original version was well documented?   How can they ask me to believe one thing then ask me to believe the exact opposite without any proof?   How can they say they have been accused of removing Barney, when they were the ones that said they had removed Barney in the first place?

If the Harbour Commision had offered proof (an x-ray/vets report) that the Gander on the Harbour was Barney and an apology for misleading everyone I would have happily laid this matter to rest,  all they have done in this statement to the paper is raise more questions and more doubt as to their integrity.

All I am asking for is some honesty, is the truth too much to ask in todays society,  do all people on committees, councils, any organisation with power have to sign a contract saying that they will avoid giving straight answers, never admit to making mistakes and try to confuse the public as much as possible.

I would encourage anyone with any questions about the way your Harbour is being run,  regarding the wildlife or any other aspect to contact the Harbour Commission.  They are answerable for their actions, they just appear not to want the public to know that.

I am sorry that Mr Thompsons wife feels she has been harrassed,  this harrassment is not connected to myself or knoxwood in any way,  I did contact animal welafare oganisations,  but not animal rights, they work in totally different ways and I would not actively encourage their involvement in this as I do not approve of their methods.  I hope that this Harrassment stops,  and that the Harbour Commission feel able to help put an end to this by being honest with us all.
