Are you getting nightmares trying to research a niche?
Chances are that if you are trying to set up your online business, niche research is troubling you because it is the very first work that you need to do. This is a five step approach to niche research- free, easy and takes a few minutes each day for a few days on your part.
As you know, I am working on the internet full time as a marketing student and marketer. And these days I am being personally mentored by an expert marketer and self made millionaire Internet Marketer. Now, I do make it a point to tell this in all my content- articles, audio or video, whether I am offering it for free or selling it for some dollars.
So, I always kinda say that if you are a newbie internet marketer (and that by the way means that you have not made a single dime online), then you need to start making money as quickly as possible to avoid the situation where you have spent a lot of money on different programs that are out there, and end up without having made any real money yourself. Worse still, end up in debt. And the quickest and easiest way to do that is to start selling other peoples' stuff. That's right. You need to get into Affiliate Marketing.
If you are an advanced marketer, then you are probably already into selling other peoples' stuff ie the affiliate marketing. If you are not doing that, you need to catch up with that as well. So today I am going to show you how to set up your own affiliate marketing business.
The first thing you need to know is to select a niche for yourself. A niche is simply a particular segment of the marketplace that is interested in a particular type of products, or services. You need top decide your niche in order to be able to brand yourself as an expert in that particular niche. Why? Because of two reasons:
-
If you are selling everything to everyone, you end up selling nothing to no one.
-
It's always better to be the Jack of a few trades and master of one rather than being the jack of all trades and master of none.
You got my point. Right?
So lets dive straight into how you should select a niche for yourself. Well, there are two components to it:
-
You must be interested, rather passionate about that subject
-
the niche must be profitable ie there must be some amount of money that could be made out of that niche.
So, the first step is to sit down with a pen and paper and brain storm and look for all the areas that you are interested in and all the areas that you are really passionate about. Make a list of both the things: Your passions, and your interests.
Ideally, I would want you to select a niche out of the areas that you are passionate about. But if none of those areas is profitable (don't worry, step two is all about testing a niche), you could actually go ahead and check out one of the areas from your interests list.
Second step is to actually go out and find out whether your niche is actually profitable or not. And let me tell you, I should probably be charging a hundred bucks for telling you this stuff, because you will really love it. The approach is known as the A.P.P.L.E. Approach to niche profitability. APPLE stands for :
