Thanks to all of you who kept shit buzzin even tho we were unexpectedly put on first - some of you were left disapointed, but now to the people who were there...
we tried something new, a shorter more directed set, rather than the mammoth stadia like effect we usually go for (sic). and a sign told us that maybe this was the start of a new beginning. we somehow mananged to cut the power out on el negros verse on Serial Killer Homage. we restarted, but pointed out perhaps it was more than a small coincidence the only black guy in the room gets on the mic and theres a power outage. (not really neil). although being something many people assure me was a first for the venue, which was nice and dramatic, we had to continue the set in almost pitch blackness. whilst using our sony ericsson mobiles for that lighting solution that you just cant do without.
what did you all think of the new track then eh? come on let us hear about it. its official emo title is "wandering from castles to pillows, youve got 2 keep your feet in the earth". and from what i could see it went down well, all 2 mins 12 of it. for you electric guitar clockers out there del was playing the guitar melody by tuning his guitar pegs in and out for the notes. hes a clever boy, i know. and that essential line i ramble before the chorus is "of course emotion is essential but id rather try and be a bit more of a man about it, yeah, i guess like my father would've wanted". oh come on. must we be so immature? yes.
here was the final set list martin,
SKH, Television, Time Bombs, Drug 4, Wandering..., and Sensimilia to close.
another achievement was the amount of chavvy locals (no offence) who somehow magically appeared, and seemed to be enjoying themselves...until i realised maybe they were just trying to work out why so many fit girls and 'gay blokes' were standing in the dark listening to a guy who "sounds like he wants to kill himself". ah the mysteries of the modern world, and why they must stay mysteries. maybe that's all chavy locals should look for in their live music anyways. well, we all enjoyed it loads and loved the hippy styles gathering afterwards at the LE HQ and Sugacubes...was beautiful.
the week ahead means more writing, demos (the TIME BOMBS demo will be up this week), more saying HI on the high street, more sexual abuse (marginal), more brewer, more girls, guys and street signs.
get in touch, fernandez and the boys too
