It has come to our attention via serveral people both in person and by email that there has been various peices of misinformation being spread about our involvment in Concrete Jungle and a certain Wattie Buchan . 

We are not prepared to listen to let the bullshit continue and so have decided to copy in our responce to a posting which appeared on a message board last week.

Our comments are the ones in bold - the thread was removed just after we replied so many of you may not have had chance to read our comeback which is rather unfair.  We are taking this step so we have chance to reply as it does not seem to be going away, we are not doing this to stir things.

Yawn, yawn - this reminds me why I am not a fan of message boards, forums etc (and to be honest as a rule due to being busy 110% of the time I do not have time to visit them).

I understand it is a chance for people to express opinions and gives everyone an even spring board, BUT it is also the place where many, HALF TRUTHS and sometimes NO TRUTHS are borne.   Remember don't believe everything you read (but of course believe what I put )!  

I see Daryl Smith (Sparrer/Bargy/all round nice geezer etcetera) has rightly addressed the points surrounding him and I will take the unprecedented step of doing the same on the PunkOiUK side of things.

Symond is running concrete jungle and Daryl from Argy Bargy/Sparrer handles the bands
Symond wanted the Exploited
Daryl said no way

Symond insisted so Daryl started trying to work out the details
well Wattie wanted loads of shit PLUS more dosh than even COCKNEY REJECTS he wanted like 5000 GBP and kept fucking about

meanwhile Symond had that site Punk & Oi in the UK selling tickets
Daryl could NOT talk Wattie down-even by a 1000 quid
so Symond said fuck it-take the jock cunt off the bill

Wattie went to Rebecca who runs Punk/Oi and threatened her until she stopped selling selling tickets AND had her refund nearly 8000 quid in already sold tickets as shes apparently scared of Wattie!!!!!!!!!


Firstly I would like to say that I have NEVER EVER been threatened by Wattie (again I do not personally know him) and for that matter have not ever been threatened by anyone else from any other band.  I would say 'apparently' being the word in the above statement!  I have no reason to be scared of Wattie and at this stage would just like to say 'for fucks sake are we back at school now, or what'?  Grow up!   And to quote the obvious 'united we stand, divided we fall.


Secondly, the amount Punk & Oi In The UK sold remains undisclosed to EVERYONE!  So how anyone could put an amount and a wrong amount at that is beside me.  I am tempted at this point to shout "higher" "or lower"!

Seeing it seems to be up for discussion, we wrote to every customer explaining due to various factors we regretted to inform them that Punk & Oi In the UK have decided to resign from acting as a Ticket Agent for this event.

We would like to point out that we do not do anything hastily and without a lot of considered thought. Surly it is better to pull out at this stage rather than cause more disruption later on?  We apologised to each and everyone for the inconvenience and refunded (at a loss to PunkOiUK) the amount in full including booking fee and informed them of alternative places to buy tickets.  We have since also forwarded an email from Symond to  each individual and placed banners all over our ticket page http://www.punkoiuk.co.uk/tickets and items on the news page none of which we were obliged to do. Prior to this we had spent a lot of valuable time on the event , so your point is?

then The Exploited's manager rings Symond up and says "sorry we couldnt iron out details-maybe next year Wattie will play"
what a fucking cunt

Finally, I would also like to question where this information has come from.  As I have already pointed out some of the information had never been disclosed, so very strange!  Either someone has a genuine case of verbal diarrhoea or it is someone with a grudge to bear - either way I suggest you spend your time more constructively helping the scene.

Fuck me what is wrong with some people, this sort of thing is what partly drove punk and oi further underground, infighting bitching and so forth, Rebecca has done a lot for our music scene and way of life along with others so why the fuck has someone gotta try and ruin what will be a good weekend with rumours and such like, she doesnt need this sort of shit!

i think that someones harbouring a unfair grudge against you Rebecca mainly outta jealousy cos you got the brains,the looks and know how and they cant handle it.

well what i lot of bollocks to say it politely. with any major event there will be a roller coaster. over the last six months daryl and me (symond) have built concrete jungle. daryl sorting bands, me the venue and structure. ticket sales were an issue which we had to consider. rebecca agreed with daryl to sell them for us as everyone goes through punk and oi, and in return we thought it would be lovely to give rebecca the booking fees rather than multi corporates like paypal etc. the bands we have booked have had chops and changes due to previous bookings tours, family commitments, drought and famine etc. some we couldnt afford the fees as it might jeapordise the whole event if we go over budget. the stress has been intolerable, but due to some really good helpful people who have sprung up right across the world in helping support us we have now got pretty much the final line up in place. with sham 69 signing up this morning as a headliner. we have over 36 other bands from all levels. plus a stage for new bands who want to get involved in supporting and building our scene. bands coming from many countries with punters from about every corner of the globe

the original pencilled in bands have changed over the time, and others replacing. This is the nature of the beast, with so many people involved and life commitments.
