There is really some great blessing that came out of working at Mission Mart, Home Sweet Home's thrift store, on Christmas Eve. Around 10:00 am, the kitchen at the shelter called and said they had quite a lot of food baskets to still give away.
I went next door loaded my truck down and brought them back to the store. As business picked up, we began and ask if individuals if they needed food baskets, so many people were very blessed and thankful for the baskets.
A younger gal was thrilled and then asked about a tree that we had. It was in pieces in five bags but I knew it was complete because one of our volunteers had brought it in. I told her she could have it for $10.00 and any ornaments for 75% off. She was shocked and said she had planned to use rent money for a tree and now she wouldn't have too.
Another lady in the store heard her, and came to me to donate $5.00 towards her purchase. When we rang her up, she owed $7.53. She said make sure you give me a receipt because nobody will believe this! I told her God knew what she needed and provided, she agreed and left to enjoy her Christmas.
