Well, Seattle and Portland, but to say the least I am super excited about my upcoming tour in the north west. This time around, it will be just me, but it would be great to see The Light in New York in 2009. That's a real ambition.
As for me, I think that I will come back a very different Tom Matchett and a very different musician. I've never even been to the States before and this will be a huge culture shock on so many fronts.
Went to see Billy Childish and the MBEs tonight at DWC. Great night. I love that place and we - The Light - plan to play there very soon.
So, expect more music...expect US and European tours, expect for the rest of this year some great gigs in London and some adventures elsewhere in the UK, expect also webcasts.
I've just got my webcam set up (yes, its that basic) and I'm just working on the audio side of things. Technology - in terms of streaming - has developed rapidly in the past couple of years. I would like to do a weekly webcast from home. Its a good way of reaching people without pissing off promoters by playing too many gigs and reaching people who live far too far away to come and see me play anywhere else.
As for my US tour. I want it to be a tour driven by new material. Strange, as I could play songs that I've been playing for years and that no-one in the States has ever seen live, but this will be where new songs grow.
Hoping to webcast my rehearsal on Monday. Will post details here.
Tom.
