Aaron Watson gears up for one of the hottest live concerts of the summer on June 27th as he records his next project Deep In The Heart Of Texas: Aaron Watson Live at Hog Creek Icehouse’s backyard amphitheater in Waco, TX set to be released on CD, DVD, and digitally on September 15th, 2009.
“Our last live record was done way back in 2005 and the material and my live show has changed so much with the release of San Angelo, Barbed Wire Halo and Angels & Outlaws that I felt it was definitely time to record another live record for the fans before we start working on our new studio record that will come out sometime in 2010,” says Watson of the decision to make this his next recorded project.
Hog Creek Icehouse is located 7 miles west of I-35 on Highway 6, where the Waco city limits end and the beautiful, rural landscape of Texas begins. The open air setting on a clear Texas night in a “backyard amphitheater” setting couldn’t make for a better location for this special event. Hog Creek has hosted such acts as REO Speedwagon, Tracy Byrd, Blue Oyster Cult, Ted Nugent, Chris Cagle and Rodney Carrington in their 7 year history.
“We chose Waco because it’s right in the middle of every market that I play in Texas and I wanted everyone to be a part of this recording, not just fans in one town,” says Aaron. WACO100 award winning morning hosts Zack Owen and Jim Cody have played an integral part in developing Aaron’s career in the market over the years and had this to say about the show: “We’ve really seen Aaron grow over the years here in Waco and have been proud to see him grow as much as he has. We were really excited when he came to us with this idea and are looking forward to one of the most exciting shows Waco has seen in quite a while. Even though he’s starting to grow a lot more, it’s neat that he wants to return to a hometown Texas market with guys he’s known for a long time.”
4,000 general admission tickets will be available for this show along with a limited number of elevated reserved seats and balcony VIP seats. Tickets go on sale Saturday, May 16th at 10:00 AM CST through FrontGateTickets.com and will also be available at Cavender’s and Standard Hat Works in Waco.
