Five Exit Cumulus/Youngstown And Poughkeepsie
CUMULUS/YOUNGSTOWN parted ways this morning with three veteran air personalities, Classic Rock WYFM (Y-103) night-time legend DAVE MESSERSMITH is out after 23 years on the air, and Country WQXK (K-105) night jock BURTON LEE and morning show co-host K-MAN.
YESTERDAY Top 40 WHOT reportedly let all part-time air staff go.
Will all three stations will now run syndicated programming in the evening?

My best wishes to all who lost their jobs. Dave was a great night jock that brought life to the night gig in Ytown - when most of it was no-so-live in many ways. Ryan (Rock104) stuck through it all at the station, he is a trooper and I wish him the best in whatever he does next - radio or not. Burton was a person and a great talent. K-Man, well... he is K-man, always alive and willing to talk (not saying that's a bad thing).
The radio industry is in bad shape right now - even before the econemy took a dump. This business is rough right now - to have a job a is major deal. When I left Cumulus-Youngstown back in April, I thought it would be at least a year before I saw the light of a new j-o-b. I got lucky and I know that when the job at Rock105 opened up.
I'll keep my ear to tracks for you guys - keep your heads up!
