Current mood:  bouncy

Where were you last month?  We missed you! Don't worry we won't hold it against you, and the heart's grown fonder in your absence.  But I'm telling you right now you won't want to miss March's QLiterati! It's 7-10 pm next Wednesday, at the brand new Q Center location 4115 N Mississippi Ave.  And we've got a great line up to christen the new building.

Our feature authors this month:

Former Benedictine and Trappist monk Daniel Skach-Mills is an award winning poet and author of The Tao of Now. He was born in Coeur d’Alene Idaho, and raised in Portland, Oregon. His poems have appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, The Christian Century, Sojourners, Open Spaces, and Prayers To Protest: Poems That Center and Bless Us.  His chapbook, Gold: Daniel Skach-Mills’s Greatest Hits, 1990-2000, was published by Pudding House.   A psychotherapist and spiritual teacher, Daniel is also a docent for the Portland Classical Chinese Garden. He and his
partner live in Portland.

Shanna Germain  is a poet by nature, a short story writer by the skin of her teeth, and a novelist in training. She has a list of revolving and ever-growing lusts, which currently includes: the smell of well-used leather, the curve of asses and the term "knee tremblers." You can read her work in places like Absinthe Literary Review, Best American Erotica, Best Bondage Erotica, Best Gay Romance, Best Lesbian Erotica, Best Lesbian Romance, (are you seeing a pattern here?), Salon and X: The Erotic Treasury. Shanna edits Roast magazine, fiction for Clean Sheets and 42Opus, the poetry section of the American Journal of Nursing [who knew they had poetry!] and for Poetry Northwest.  Her articles, poetry, essays and photographs have been published in dozens of print and online magazines, newspapers and anthologies.

Sandra de Helen is the author of The Hounding and playwright behind numerous works including No on 9: Queer Family Values and Butch o' My Dreams.  Sandra will be reading something fresh from the Fertile Ground New Works Festival!

Of course you know that the featured authors are only half the fun.  Don't miss the tasty treats, the door prizes, the Q&A and--for many the highlight of the evening--the open mic including our own Flaming Chef, Jason Zenobia.  We still have spaces if you'd like to sign up to read!  Just drop us a note at qliterati@gmail.com or arrive at the Q Center around 6:45.

See you there.  We mean it this time!
