The NBS Unity Quilt panels are being displayed the whole month of September at the Center of Disease Control and Prevention.  They have been very well received by all who have viewed them.  In fact, the CDC employees like them so much, they have asked if we could leave a couple of them there permanently so when they give tours of the Newborn Screening Quality Assurance Laboratory, that the family aspect really hits home and connects on a personal level with the viewers.  We've also had 5 new quilt panels made and donated to the project in the last month.

·         The Georgia Babies-R-Us director contacted us and wants the Foundation to exhibit at their baby events they do every month.  So we are busy rounding up enough local volunteers to cover all 11 Georgia stores.  Many of our volunteers have done these before, but this is the first that time Babies-R-Us has sought us out to do it.  Our volunteers are usually the ones that are knocking on their doors!  Many thanks to all the Georgia PKU parents who are stepping up to do these exhibits at the various stores.  The Georgia PKU Connect organization has been instrumental in helping locate willing volunteers to do these exhibits on our behalf.

All Babies-R-Us stores do these events every month and have vendors exhibit during their baby-related classes.  Any advocates that would like to do this in their area should contact the store's manager to find out who they should speak to in regards to exhibiting.  The Foundation will supply exhibitors with all the materials they will need for the display.
