After 10 days of pretending I am independently wealthy and don't need to work, today was a harsh reminder that I do, indeed, have a job. I am on call this month and though I gave it a valiant try I was not able to get a decent night's sleep, despite the fact that I had a very busy, full day that started fairly early. So, it was with great dread that I answered my phone at 3:10am to receive the bad news that I was going to be flying an AM trip. I tried to get another hour of sleep but that was not to be. For some reason, my brain didn't want anything to do with sleep though I felt bone-tired. I think I need to have a talk with my DR about getting some sleeping aides. Insomnia seems to be an all too common experience for me...

Anyway, so, when I looked at my screen to see what nasty trip they gave me I nearly burst into tears. Not only was I getting up at 3:30 am I was also expected to work 11 hours and 6 legs, which is just about the worst you can get, in C position. Gah! So, I'm going to be 'homeless' on the plane and so tired that I won't be able to keep my eyes open... The morning got even better when I went to go start my car to drive to work and the it wouldn't turn over. I gave it several tries but the car wouldn't budge! Since, I don't want to call in sick I had to catch a cab to work, which set me back about $40. Yeah, great start to the morning! I remember another reason I hate mornings...

So, here I am in Hartford, Connecticut sleep deprived and stressed out. On top of having to (most likely) get a new starter for my car I am actually more stressed about my crappy schedule for next month. I tried to hard to make sure I bid smart but somehow I accidentally bid for the absolute worst line I could get for the month of July. It's a line that leaves many hardly any room to move things around. This is especially troublesome since I have Rothbury tickets on July 4th weekend... I know it will all work out, but it sure would be nice if things went a little more my way this week.

Lori forgets to bid and gets a great line, I DO bid as carefully as I could and I get exactly what i was hoping to avoid. go figure?

On a bright note... the Myth Busters (Adam and Jamie) were on my plane today. I have to say that of all the 'celebs' I've had on the plane I was probably the most excited about them! Such a nerd...

Yeah, so I'm thinking it was the starter the whole time. Like I told you in the car, I usually don't have that much trouble starting the car even when I am low on gas. I'm hoping that when I get back I can get it to start so I can take it in somewhere instead of having to get it towed. Honestly, couldn't be WORSE timing with a big vacation in the near future. Could really use some of Lori's good luck!
